dont u wish there were Manned-Ack in town so u didnt have to get flak in there to defend and have Manned ack it would be easier and u could try taking tanks out in town :)

Well then you would get mad cuz someone would be in mnned ack and kill your troops when they land, and a Ostwind with armor can usually withstand more than a soft Gun.

Manned ack in town would not be a bad idea, also manned ack at factories would be welcomed too.  I wish GVs could spawn into their own towns.

I love to GV and do Jabo missions vs GVs, get used to it.  Being good at one helps in the other.

yes so at least if they have cap u mite have chance of keeping base and i've killed oswinds and tanks in manned ack plenty of times hit them in the side thats all

I disagree.  Towns can be easily defended as it is.   The last ack increase has got it just right.

My gunnery in a manned ack is very good now and It just wouldnt be fair.


If they agreed to put 1 man ack in town I would suggest counting a soft gun with someone in it (shooting)  as a registered kill for the pilot or GV that destroys it.

I wonder how many people would support this if it counted as a death.

they should add hardened manned 5"/88's to the airfields and the towns.  these positions should not be easily taken out.  furthermore they should be able to kill friendlies if there are enemies in the fight.  if a gunner is shooting at an enemy and his rounds burst/impact near defenders the defenders should be damaged/die as well.

In Newport, RI, there are still 5 inch and AA artillery foundations lining Ocean Drive. These could be considered town fortifications, since they weren't on base, yes?

Would be a nice addition to have 2-3 additional manned acks, or small anti-ship batteries protecting the shore and town, IMO.

Of all the boneheaded things I see on this forum, this thread seems bears some credibility, and at least an idea that could be taken into consideration.

yeah, not get bombed and land 21 kills in a manned-ack. you should have to manually tower out.

Only way I'd agree is if we DRASTICALLY cut the amount of auto-ack in the town, and made the towns further away from the base. ;)

I'd rather see a good German 88 mount set outside the town that could fill both roles.

Ideally it would be harder to kill than an ack, yet easier than a GV, as there is nothing protecting the crew manning the gun.

Do away with all but 2 of the town auto acks, give us 88 emplacements, ideally outside the town on the corners so they have a 270 degree field of view.  A 500lb bomb should disable them for half an hour.
