I disagree.  Towns can be easily defended as it is.   The last ack increase has got it just right.

My gunnery in a manned ack is very good now and It just wouldnt be fair.

If they agreed to put 1 man ack in town I would suggest counting a soft gun with someone in it (shooting)  as a registered kill for the pilot or GV that destroys it.

I wonder how many people would support this if it counted as a death.
Bung it in I too enjoy the soft gun & would not care if it counted as a death.

Well then you would get mad cuz someone would be in mnned ack and kill your troops when they land, and a Ostwind with armor can usually withstand more than a soft Gun.
Not if I was to get my shots in first both would go down before they knew what hit them. With the exception of a Tiger coming head on.

I think we should get rid of all the ack - period.  The game is over defensive as it is.
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

I'd rather see a good German 88 mount set outside the town that could fill both roles.

Ideally it would be harder to kill than an ack, yet easier than a GV, as there is nothing protecting the crew manning the gun.

Do away with all but 2 of the town auto acks, give us 88 emplacements, ideally outside the town on the corners so they have a 270 degree field of view.  A 500lb bomb should disable them for half an hour.

Good idea, but make the down time 15 minutes like the hangers.

....and why would you dig up a year and a half old thread to say that?  :huh

If we had the M-18 at 55mph top speed, 76mm antitank main gun, .50 cal pintel, and light armor, you wouldn't need a manned ack at town.

I presonally don't care, I don't take bases but I know it'd be killed just like the rest of the guns without many problems

sounds good to me, mabe we should just replace some of the already existing non-manned acks with manned ones
