What a dik
« on: June 05, 2007, 09:45:27 PM »
I got banned for 10 minutes on chat after saying what a dik when a person named dik got a proxy kill on my town raid.  Yes, that was his online nick, "dik"

what utter dikery!  It's OK to have dik as a screen name but not OK to say what a dik?

Intent.

You probably don't understand that, considering your post in here, but that's for you to figure out.

What!

Why, that's just Tom Dikery!

I for one am utterly INcessant!

You keep saying that word.  I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Intent, indeed.

It is now the job of moderators to interpret intent? Oh, please. How about next, telepaths can be empolyed to make sure that no has mean thoughts about each other?

Limit the filtering to Carlin's Seven Dirty Words only. If including derivations of those, do it fairly and make it applicable to user id's and all other in-game text. This will make it absolutely clear what is acceptable.

If it is ok for moderators to interpret intent, there is no telling what is acceptable. I might get muted if I told someone they had caught me with my pants down. Or perhaps if DIK shot me down and I said, "You suck DIK," forgetting to put in the comma ("You suck, DIK").

Yes, I agree with you, Mr. thread starter. That was ridiculous. If DIK, or anyone else, didn't like what you were saying, they could have squelched you.
That's all.

Mr Walrus, were you there?  I happened to be in the arena, and said poster was being an twit.  Laughed my butt off when I saw him crying about getting muted in here.

And you?

And yes, intent.  If someone is trying to start trouble, then his INTENTION is to disrupt.  That clear enough for you?

Obviously. If I did, they wouldn't be so vague.

It is within the rules to post my opinion about the rules, right? I mean, isn't that what discussions are for?

So if you would like to address anything I said, I will be happy to talk about that.

If you feel the need to continue stating the obvious, I'll just ignore it. Is that within the rules?

:aok
