Video of the Decade
« on: June 07, 2007, 05:18:33 PM »
Sometimes, when it seems the world is going to hell... give up a quiet 8 minutes of your day to watch of one of the most uplifting, worthwhile, and encouraging videos you may ever see.  It's nice to know there are still un-complicated, and genuine, people like this in America.

This Cowboy and his dog are certainly worth those 8 minutes out of your life.  Don't miss it.

Call me biased, but they're all that smart y'know.

If you let them know that them being smart pleases you, they will find new ways to amaze you every day.

Yah...  Even our kids learn the same way... but I digress.

All things come to pass.  Some, such as our pets, blaze the trail ahead for us far too soon for our liking.  Yet, when you compare the amount of unconditional love they give in that brief time they touch our lives, and the memories shared...  Isn't it worth it all to know that one day you'll be reunited at the Rainbow Bridge, to start a new adventure together?

Well, let's keep it in perspective.

Play like you're a pet (species doesn't matter, but dogs always popular).

Oooh, cold and scary out here in the wild.  Too many things want to digest me.  No fun looking for decent place to rest every night or fighting for alpha status or having to constantly hunt food or even find reliable water, not to mention ticks and dodging bigger critters that don't like me.

Oh, lookee there!  A people!  Running toward me making funny little murmuring sounds and getting all sappy.

Boy, this will be easy (approximating best grin possible with jaw full of teeth).  Now lick its hand, then face.  Ugh, pretty salty.  (Do not bite do not bite do not bite or will blow the whole show.)

Hmmm, Roll Over?  Feign puzzlement a little bit.  Can't let them know I understand their language perfectly.  Okay, now comply.  Makes them so happy.  Think they're in control.

Okay, not a problem doing this gig.  Wag tail a lot, hang around, gaze with doting eyes, nuzzle them, a lot of environments are infinitely harder than this.

This is unbelievable.  For a little devotion and a few tricks, I get lifetime free room and board, medical care, daily massages, poop scooped on walks, and maybe some selected breeding.

How did I ever get so clever as to make the species that thinks it's top of the food chain do all this for me?

People really are desperate for affection.  :)

But but but...All they do is follow commands based on the sound of your voice.
They cant reason or think

LMAO some "expert" here made a claim somthing to that effect once.

Based on my experiances bluedog has it about right.

Yea there are stupid dogs that fit the former discription.
but there are alot that are pretty damn smart.

I have a Golden. My son named "Jeb" after Jeb Stewart Smartest dog Ive ever personally known.
Problem solving smart
You can look in his eyes and almost see the wheels turning figuring things out

Then I also have a Choc Lab my daugher named "Zoey" (dont know why)

I dont think I've ever seen a more stupid dog
you look in her eyes and you can just tell there is nothing going on up there

I just call her "Dingbat" cause it fits LMAO
