onboard video always has a monitor connector just under the mouse/kb plugs on that panel.
a seperate video card will have the monitor connection lower on the case in the expansion slots .

The moniter connector is down at the bottom of the case. Not on the mouse/keyboard panel.

This is the part that would worry me....
------------
DxDiag Notes
------------
DirectX Files Tab: No problems found.
Display Tab 1: No problems found.
Direct3D functionality not available.
You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.
Sound Tab 1: No problems found.
Music Tab: No problems found.
Input Tab: No problems found.
Network Tab: No problems found.

I think that says that because he hasnt ran all the tests in dxdiag .
The
Display Memory: n/a
has got to be linked to his problem i think . now this maybe a setting in the bios thats not correct ... or something else .
Are you familier with Computer Bios/cmos Motherland ???

There were two versions of the 2.5.97a driver on the link you gave me, 2.5.97a (the one I downloaded) and 2.5.97a Beta. 'Beta Versions' are ones that are still in development, right?
