Wow. As a pilot, I understand whats going on there, if I was IN those planes, id be fine, because I get it. Id probably sit there crituiqeing it with my dad. But you gotta wonder what those poor passengers are thinking!

757 STO:

Holy ****!!! I wouldnt have beleived it had I not seen it! That is a SHORT takeoff!!!

If I remember correctly, at Toncontin just beyond the end of the runway is a cliff and a busy highway runs along the bottom of the cliff. In 1997 or 98 an american c-130 did something very wrong and rolled off of that cliff and crashed down onto the highway.

They used to have some old FAH planes rotting at that airport, f4u's and c47s and stuff.

The 757 is famously overpowered. A light one climbs like a fighter.

Here is what the RNZAF do with them at airshows. A friend saw it live at an airshow in England. He said he could not get his head around the idea of an airliner flying like that.
