collision
« on: June 09, 2007, 07:17:21 PM »
other day, i had a collision with a P-38, i was flying a MC.202. i was diving at around 350mph and he was pulling up around 250mph. we didn't fire a single shot. i pulled to the left and so did he (his right=my left) and we had a collision.

he got a oil leak from an engine and i so did i.

all i'm wishing is that in the future, can we have better collsion? i mean in real life, a plane traveling at 350mph and 250mph would rip each other wings off, or explode, and in AH, all we get is a oil leak.:huh

P.S. though i'm not sure what noobs will do with this feature....:noid

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Collisions are a 'lucky dip' so to speak.

It's all to do with connections. If his front-end saw you as further away than yours did and his FE is the one that reorts the collision first... I believe that is the one that assigns damage.

I see what you mean... but it's a complicated beast.

My take on the matter is that engine damage in AH is very generic.  An "oil leak" isn't necessarily a hole in your oilpan, but rather damage to your engine of some kind.

If your prop struck the aircraft causing damage to the engine, in AH it would show as an oil hit.  At least that is my interpretation.

I read a story about one of the 109 pilots on the Eastern Front who collided at high speed with a LaGG... prop plowed into the Ruski and shredded its wing up... he made it home with a battered aircraft and damaged engine.

Hi,

To qualify myself at my still relatively noobie experience here, I do not do headons as a deliberate, offensive tactic.  I respond defensively.  I believe in the 12th Century knighthood chivalry ethics.  I don't see it much within AHII.

I see this a lot (HO) here, in MA's.  It seems if I get enough rounds in my opponent (more), than he gets in me, if we collide, he goes down and I prevail.  Of course this is cow manure as both would vaporize at 500 mph closure rate at impact.

HiTech :

This is a pretty good game just the way it is, though.

(Kick the subscripion rate up $5 and get yourself a generator.  Run it on natural gas.  One place here in town uses steam in their operation and use a turbine electrical generator for backup.)

Skuzzy already said they cant put one in because they dont own the building thier server is in.

With the collision if you see it on your side of the game you die. If you see it on your side the other guy may see you a few 100ft away due to lag. If they are a few 100ft away from you then you dont die, they do.
