No HTC has said that only skins that were used in WWII will be put into the online arenas.

Personally I find this possibilty very exciting as new rides are always welcome and there are some very talented folks in the player base.

Spoke to HT some time ago about this, problems are -

Software - It's EXPENSIVE
Import - It may be possible to import from other 3d modelling but it's hit and miss.
Tags - Even if they could import there's no guarentee animation tags are compatible.
Quality - Goes without saying.

Shame, I have really got into 3d modelling the last 10 months or so.
My latest is an JAS-39 Gripen for AI use (non-flyable) in MSFS.
LOD1 is 7000 polys, but thats coming down fast as I do the farther away ones.

Also working on an AI T-6B Texan II (foreground)

Hey Kev, can you do flyable ones? If so, ive been looking for a good B-52H, F-4 Phantom II, or EF-2000 (Eurofighter) addons for MSFS 2002 ;)

But you can create personal ones, store them client side and use them online.  The only downside is that no one else will be able to see them, only you.

Thats what i thought and it sounded to me thats what Alpha202 was asking for.

The reaction of some people in this theatre reminded me to a forum from a other well known Sim. :furious

Greetings,

Client side skins are offline-only. Not even for HTH. Definitely not for online.
