Yer, i do, but its a lot harder to be un-noticed than i think it should be. People can just do a quick map-check then a fast 180 head spin and your given away trying to position yourself in a blindspot most of the time. Too easy to be spotted. People dont need to learn good sky-scanning techniques.

Don't tell him about KS. I say let him find out for himself. That's what I do when some dweeb friendly starts spraying at me. :D
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

KS (killshooter)
« Reply #18 on: June 10, 2007, 10:07:38 PM »
I've seen noobier guys than me pull that and go poof.  I didn't know the term for it.  I try to play with respect in here, and only kill the bad guys, no matter what country I'm playing for at the time {;^)
I've never understood "rules of engagement" while in combat like we want a sanitary, civilized kill, instead of fight to win and quit the politics.  In the case of my "wish list" suggestion, turn killshooter off.

Tanking is different.  In zoom thru the artillery sniper scope, usually the icons are off except for guys really close.  I have hesitated just long enough to make sure they are enemy and that two or three second difference means I am dead, usually.   So if you guys occasionally tank and I do a friendly fire accident, nothing personal, because I won't hesitate the next time.

Tonight I got nailed by exactly what I do to the other guy, I sneak up on his six usually below him.  I saw the tracer rounds and I actually jumped out of my chair, it startled me.  I was looking around, he jumped me from behind, I never saw him.  I've got 26 views setup in my top hat and I was at 10,000 feet.  His red dot was not within the white radar circle in my radar map.  He came in fast.  I was alone.

Last night I got a guy, I was in my guns solution to vaporize him at 200 feet with cannon as I snuck up on him.  The last second he broke right, but I still got him.  I was below radar most of the time and I must have popped up above it, while my SA got side tracked getting tunnel vision concentrating in the gunsight recticle.

Fun game.

Killshooter will always be on, when it is off the arena turns into a free for all.  Hell, so many sweetheartbags play this game they had to turn it on in the DA.  Killshooter also applys to GV's so you can't "friendly fire" someone in a tank either.

As far as the icons go some have horrible SA, others don't.  I really don't feel like the icons make much difference in that regard.  I would not be opposed to shortening icon range though.

I hope you also realize that icons are on for friendlies in GVs out to 6k as well.

5 min with killshooter off would change your mind.

Team killing fps squeakers have invaded AH. You'd be hard pressed to find a front line base you could up from.

My only complaint against  the icons is when you have sneaked a GV into a forest behind a base and are totally invisible from the air some pilot sees your icon as he is passing and blows the crap out of you. He never saw your GV, he was never going to see your GV but he did catch the blip of the icon as he thundered past and bombed the icon.  That is so frustrating.

so you like to sneak behind people and shoot them? that si your method? hope and pray they don't see you. What if they do then what do you do?

i guess i am different, i like them to know i'm there. What fun is t sneaking up on unsuspecting nmez and shooting them down? that's why they are "fights"

Who said sneak up and shoot people, sneak up in a M3 behind the 5 tanks on a GV base and do a mad dash and drop for a base take while they are target fixated on my squad mates.

The rest of the people discussing this topic were talking about it before you got here.

The point of icons on GVs is so that planes /can/ see you. A tank in real life kicks up dusk and smoke, makes thunderous noise, and is much larger from the plane's perspective than it is in the game.
