ò 484th Bomb Group Heavy ò
« on: June 11, 2007, 06:09:15 AM »
ò Brief Overview
This is a newly formed bomber group from the 550th BGH members who have moved here. One of our members fathers flew with this group, and it sticks with our B24/15th USAAF SOP's. Most of the members have 100's of missions in many sims, and fly historical profiles with emphasis on RTB'ing. Most of what we do is high alt SOP, but we also incorporate NOE mossie raids and heavy fighter action.
As of right now, we fly in the MA's and the AVA (map dependant) for which ever side needs the numbers. Eventualy we look to make the move to CT for the future.

ò Requirements
We have very litle actual requirements. Basically we have an 18 or older age rule, as we are mostly older folks, and things get rated R sometimes on TS dependant on how many cons we are dealing with , hehe. Our only other requirement is having the Teamspeak client with a fully functional mic, and push to talk enabled so evreyone is not stepping on each other with voice activatiion when the channel is heavily populated. Our TS server is 100 man on a business class connection with crystal clear unlimited codecs. This server is also staffed with an active group of sensable, active admins, so thers no kiddie BS.
Our only other requirement is that you have fun. :)

ò Flight Times
Squad night- Sunday's  7:30 PM EST
Training/ secondary squad nights- Tuesdays 7:30 PM EST

ò Benefits
Meeting fine folks that we fly with, like the 78th Intruders, and those who participate in theHARM missions. members also have access to any of the sims/ games in the =db= (Debdenboys) community witch is over 100 active members strong. (See the game list in TS) Fine folks, all of them.

ò Interested?
Post here or follow the link in my signature to our homepage and forums and go ahead and register and post your interest. We'll make sure you get all of the TS and pertinent info. If you see us in the arenas, and you will, your more than welcome to hook up with us for a few missions with no expecatations, just for a mutual test ride.

, and see you in the unfriendly skies

Also wanted to add in here....

We are looking for a fighter squadron for escort duty on Sunday (squad) nights, and possibly Tuesday (training) nights to pair up with. We generally attract cons looking for easy meat, and would be more then happy to let a crack group of fighters get the kills. :) We can even provide a TS channel on our server for this if its suitable.

827 Squadron formed

The 827th Squadron is formed. The roster is

Blkmgc
Rossco
Big-mo
Loboxx
Jimmyz
Z108
Jb31

We are now looking for leadership quality people (or a group looking for a home) to fill the ranks of the 825th and 826th squadrons. All squadrons will work together on squad nights for multiple target destruction and or large multi wing/ single group opps in the Main arenas, as well as in special events and scenarios. Orders, tactics, mission planning and target discussions for events will be held in the "War Room" forum.

Each squadron will be provided with thier own Forum on the 484th site, noseart representing thier respective squadron, and a teamspeak channel of their own on our 100 man TS server, and any other tools or support needed. The same guidlines in the first post here apply. Each squadron will need a CO and an XO to form their squads ingame.

Interested?
Pm me here, or register at our site (link in sig) and post up. You will then be directed to TS and can catch me or Rossco when we are on (check the "who's on ts" box on the homepage).

We'd like to thank Crusty and the gang that flew with us tonight for our training mission, and Fencer and his group who flew with our first mission, and Trukk and Fone and the rest of the escorts. That was a blast!

We were able to do about 50 % to the ammunition factory, even being swarmed by a gazillion onesixtydweebs. on our first run, mostly due to the escorts . And the second run we did a heap of dammage on an airfield..probably 80+% I'd figgure, and were even able to TG down a 262 and a few other cons. But I think Fone flew into the bees nest we stired up and dragged a few around which allowed most of us to RTB. Wish I would have gotten a few pics , hehe.

Good times :)

The 484th will be leading the 2nd bomber division in the upcoming event;

Der Grosse Schlagg (rules here)

We need to fill out 1 wing, and part of another of 9 B24's. TS is provided. Singles or groups welcome to join in, and practice a bit with us. Even if your an independant squad, thats just fine. If you have little training/experience, and lots of interest, were a pretty friendly group and will help you get up to speed on the bomber operations. Who knows, you might even make a friend or 2 . :) PM me here or follow the link in my sig to our forums.

First, because our server is unlimited codec. Meaning its just like having someone talking to you, thats sitting right next to you. Crystal clear. In game vox is ok for ad hoc communications, and works some of the time, but doesnt even compare to the quality, consistency and or the controll you have over TS.

Second, its part of the unity of our group. Its ours, we controll it. We say freely what we deem as fit, and do not have to put up with kiddie crap, pointless argueing and the 1337 smacktalk there, thats all to common in ingame VOX . Plus its also a place of our own where we can hangout and just shoot the breeze if we feel like it, or are playing another sim/game.

Heck, I usually log on after my kids are in bed evrey night, and go for a bombrun, or jump into a friendly game of RO, or grab a race on rFactor or NASCAR , or whatever else may be going on since theres usually always something to do. Its all part of being a part of a gaming community[/b]. Its much more than just joining a squad. We happily host for other squads and groups that are mature like us because it makes for a more diverse and well rounded group, and a lot more fun for all.

I'd like to be considered for a squad like this. Im a new bomber/gamer whos been logging in a lot of hours in B24s. Im also an older gentleman, a USAF veteran, and like an older crowd.

Yeah, I know Im new, but I have about 6" thick pile of flight game training I printed out so that shows Im serious.

                                   Thank you............Rich
