Not for you, and my Dell upgrade I did myself, with your advice, I would still be farting around with an archaic old setup.  Thank you very much for the help.

The 1st FSO with your team after I joined your squad, there was no room for me.    I'm green.  A lot I don't know.  I show up to new things I expect some help, don't assume I already know.  Took me awhile to find you guys that Friday night.  That is why I stated I wanted to be junior guy on a wing element---show me the ropes.

Your crew originally were to be carrier based sorties.  I practiced solo in TA with F6F and other carrier planes, got specific training to land on the carrier by a TA trainer, and never flew with you guys doing carrier sorties.   I guess you guys changed mission priorities.

Went to one of your training sessions and all the guys did was use me for target practice.  I know what training is, that wasn't training.  

Did FSO 2 weeks ago with you guys in LA7's or La5's and it was one big, free-for-all, as I pereceived it.  I would like to see an organized military unit.  Believe me, I know what that is.  

I noticed squad affiliation to AHII follows me to all arenas.   Though, nice decal on the cowl sure looks good.   I came in here first and did EW as Knight and met a guy and got pretty good in a Ju-88 before I met you or your squad.  I was doing Bishop when I met you in LW, tanking.  I do not want to be tied down to a specific squad, flying only a specific country, flying a specific plane, ALL the time.  

Most of the guys in your squad are opposite my personality, not you specifically, not jt, but most of the rest.  I cuss.  You guys take it to the vulgar extreme on vox.  I've flown with you guys and as stated by me on another board---one big free-for-all.  1st week I did I fly with you within "watch your back" in a furball.

All is good enough.  I'd fly with you guys, sometimes, but not all the time.  If that is what a squad is here to AHII, country specific, always locked in to just one squad and if AHII is mostly the squaddie thing, then most likely AHII and me will say adeu, and I'll find another outlet for my energy.

 Fun game though, except I mostly get shot down here, all the time.  That is getting old fast.   These bulletin boards in archive have a lot of valuable information not necessarily specific to AHII which I also enjoy reading.

Sorry, about hard feelings, but not by me.  The only people that PO me to AHII are the griefer responders busting my butt in replies via this bulletin board.  But that can be relieved quite quickly.  I'll quit posting asking questions.

Come to the TA Tuesday thru Thursday evenings, from 8 PM to at least 11 PM, stop by the TA and look for me, Ren, Rolex, Hammer or Ghosth. Any of us will be happy to work with you to build the skills needed to get to the break-even point and better.

It takes time to get good at this sim/game, it's a very steep learning curve. However, the average guy can gradually improve to the point where he can have a good expectation of winning more than losing.

You may even want to participate in our 3v1 clinics on Thursday nights in the TA. This allows everyone to fight against multiple enemies without the worry of being shot down... Get hit, keep fighting. You will be able to fly with and against Rolex, Fuzeman, CpMorgan, Trumpman and others.

This helps pilots learn to recognize E states, builds SA skills and helps you to determine the primary threat. If you're part of the 3 man groups, you get to practice teamwork. You'll get to do this for 2 hours, and at least 2, probably 3 trainers will be present and participating (I still count Fuzeman as a Trainer).

Keep plugging away Daubie. You learned to land on the CV pretty quick, I'm sure the rest will come to you as well.

Does one have to sign up for one of those training gigs or can we just hop right in?  I wouldn't say I'm a bad pilot but I do get shot down.. alot... and lately I can't shoot the broad side of a Lancaster no matter how much time I spend in offline mode.

I have no hard feeling tword you and I now understand where you are comming from. I'm glad you cleared the smoke from my eyes. I wish I would have been able to show you more, but as I always said if you ever wanna fly with me you can no need to be part of the squad and have that little tag there and be on 1 country. I have been trying to get the squad to fly each country for a month with no avail and no luck in doing so. I myself enjoy flying Knight and sometime rook each for its own reason.

With FSO we have upped the numbers and anytime you would like to fly in it we now have room and your more than welcome to join in.  

Latly I have been flying in Axis vs Allies for a change and It seems alot of the really good pilots fly in there. Good clean fights and good sticks.

Give the game time, just don't quit and walk away. It takes time to learn this game, TA is a good start alot of good trainers in there that showed me most of what I know. If not for those guys i'd still be bombing and not in a fighter. I bombed for the first 6 months and never even touched a fighter eveytime i upped a fighter i got hammered, must have died over a thousand times. I didnt give up, found a plane i could fly ...the c.205 and worked on it from there.

What helped me was everytime I upped, I recorded my flights and reviewed them as to what I did wrong and watched how the other guys were able to kill me. Try that too as a learning tool.

There are squads that regularily change countries even to the point of squad members fighting each other and there are those that are country loyal.

There are squads that fly with military precision and there are those that are just guys who want to chat and fly together with no set agenda.

There are squads that are oriented to base capture and others that simply go mix it up in fighters.

There are squads that stick to one aircraft and those that have no preference.

The point is, the squads in this game are as varied as the players themselves.  The best advice is to not join a squad until you know what your own game style is.  Then look for one that fits by flying with them for a few days before joining.

If you don't find one that suits you don't worry about it.  

I was CO of a 60+ member squad back in Air Warriors (before it closed) from '96 until about '01.  When I migrated here in '01 I had had enough of squad life and decided to go it alone.  I flew as a loner until about 5-6 months ago (6 years) when I started a little, loosly organized fighter squad just so we could each have a wingman once in a while.

I liked being a loner but I did miss having a friendly or two to back me up, to set up kills for, and to provide a little comraderie.  I was excited when I started the squad and flew with the others every chance I had.  Now I find myself slowly going back to my loner lifestyle.  There are advantages to it.  You can do whatever you want whenever you want with no obligations to anybody else.

As to getting shot down all the time welcome to the club.  11 years and I still do but I win a few too.

No sign up is required and generally speaking the more the merrier.
Check their calendar for fuiture classes.

Hi,

I try to never personally insult anybody on the bulletin boards and why I did not mention your name when treading on borderline negative issues.  We got vox, but Internet is still mostly one dimensional.  It is not like talking face to face with each other as to voice tone and gestures, eye contact, civil tone in range of fist (not you).   Personality issues happen often time when nothing negative was meant at all.  

Yeah, I am findind the Axis vs. Axis side to be more realistic.  They should turn radar off and make it more like WWII was OR at least somehow minimize it.  I make 1st contact in there usually as I'm looking in views all around, and I see a very distant speck.  Other thing I like there is the planes are more balanced to performance within an era.  If everybody was using the same plane, it would not be about plane performance differences but pilot skill.   Another thing they should implement is thick cloud banks---to hide in and forced to fly---instruments only.   When MA is full up I go to EW or MW or A vs A.  Want company?  Just load up a F6F off a CV and go attack a town, usually somebody comes snooping.

Yeah, I like 205.  That sucker vaporizes bombers all 3 at a time in one pass if you get in close.  Yeah, I'll wing with you on that sucker, anytime.  I think current A vs. A is 202, though, not as much punch with that weapon package.

Not sure yet on what were flying but check the other forums to get an idea i'll post it there and i'll also send you an email on it also.

Its ok, kinda just wondered what might have been the problem but i know now and all is good.

Job was contract they have me taking classes now to "tune up" my brain lol. but other than that it was good untill the noon time heat got to ya. 95 degrees with a heat index of 100 degrees with 100% humidity. Getting preped to manage accounts now. Office work always bores me, i'd rather be out in the open air. hope all well. gotta go

I had every intention to wing on you last night in A vs. A but I chased down a guy out near a back airport. Figured while I was out there, loaded up a different German plane and did attack missions and snuck in the backside of their airport under radar to wreac havoc as best I could.  They were all headed to you.  So I snuck up behind and under them.  No HO's getting them that way.  Furballs are about 90% of this game, but it ain't the only way.

FSO was fun.  I'm always meeting Ghosth in there and escorted his crippled plane and we both got shot up from a bogy.

FSO, needs search and rescue.  French Underground sufficed with their oo-la, la mademoiselles.   Sorry I got side tracked, but why return to base in that situation?  Ended up in France.  I'll stay in France for the duration...

My personality is still opposite most you guys and your style ain't mine, but you guys excell completing mission objectives to the disbelief of your peers.
