I was involved in a 3 Vs.1 and Got HO'ed by all three of them.If a person is jumped by 3 enemy planes the one plane will HO shoot, any shoot to get out of the 3 Vs. 1 situation. The 3 enemy planes take that as it's OK for us to do it as well since the 1 plane is.

I mean hey everybody it's a GAME all day long, but if yer gonna say how you don't HO and gang and vulch and are a gentlemen in the AvA, and abide by whats written on the MOTD then at least have the sense to act like it.

On another note we have been promoting game play in this arena all week long starting on sunday and have had 20 + players in there every nite all complaining of the good fights they have been having and how long they have been looking for a good fight. This arena can make a comeback but not if everyone talks  about fair gameplay then does the opposite.

:aok

Clarify. I ho'd you in a 3 vs 1 or I have to ho you to kill you?  What did I miss?

You were HO'ing everyone you came into contact with in a 110.

I agree the MOTD is helping just a little, but if your gonna talk the talk, then walk the walk and try to spread this around.I mean dang i had 3 squaddies askin for permission to HO so as not to be labled in a bad way.

Having fun in AvA.   There was some ganging and a few Hos last night but I think if guys stick around a bit and get some friendly advice from the vets on their team they will back off the unwanted stuff.

Not HOing is easy enough but it is easy to go from a fair fight to ganging if 1 side loses a few guys in a furball quickly.  When ganged badly I may make a lighthearted comment with a  .  I don't engage in any 200 arguing or insulting but I think it's ok to politely let the new guys know whats different about AvA.

I notice the new scenario msg doesn't get specific about HOing, ect.  Would it be better or worse to list a few unwanted tactics?

Anyway, lots of fun and looking forward to flying the 109F tonight (flew allies due to # this afternoon).   Had some good fights today.

I had a funny night last night.. 1st sortie land 3 kills next 4 I fell into a sea of red and they all seemed really angry at me for some reason :D

As I see it let the community police themselves and see how it comes out.  I stated in a post a couple of months ago that my first night in ava I vulched a guy coming off a field.  A reg pm'd me and explained the 'rules' politely and I've followed them to the best of my ability since.

PM is a great way AFTER you've taken a deep breath to explain the situation where you're not publicly calling out someone.

I will say this.  I'd rather fly with and against the core group than anywhere else in the game and I get excited when I log on and see any of them in the arena.  I don't care how many times I kill or get killed it's just fun to play the game with them.

Just my .02.

I think the message should be removed... seems to do more harm than good.  IMO of course.

I also think Sweet2th should be removed.  Why are people so dense?  All these efforts to treat the symptoms instead of the disease.  With the treatments truly just a contribution to the disease.  Community, Community Community!!  How many times does it have to be said?  Being respectful, polite, constructive, instructing and good sports is the cure.  No matter what the Staffers put in that MOTD will have any positive effect, it all comes down on the shoulders of all the guys flying in the AvA.

The people that just can't seem to grasp this, imo, should just leave.  Their presence to "boost" the population is exponentially countered by their bad will, mouthy attitudes and disrespect. Positive actions create positive responses.  Negative actions and soon you you will have bugs crawling in your head. :aok

You are an odd one. Act one way in the arena and then come on the BBS with this stuff. Intresting.

As far as the "HO'ing everyone you came into contact with in a 110". I explained to you after you PM'd me what was up. After the 5 vs 1 gang I told you watch out for the 110 because he is going to ho. (me being the 110) I was going to eradicate all people in red any way possible due to the constant ganging at the time. This was a brief window when this occured. Should I have done it? Some would agree, some wont. After things settled down I went back to business as usual. 99.9%  of the time I will not take the head on shot in the AvA unless my opponent takes it first. And even then its just a judgement call on whether to return it on avoid. Hos are not against the rules in the AvA.

My take on how I fly is this.I dont care for mindless jousting. To me the fun is outflying the guy for the kill. Not cherry picking the furball,  not ganging up on a lone con ,not taking the HO and then running, and not taking a half hearted BnZ pass and then climbing for the moon. Thats my way.

You and your squaddies do as you like. Fly by your code and have fun. You bring numbers to the AvA , enhance the fights, and I have seen zero abuse on 200 from you guys. I think thats great

You have something to discuss with me or questions shoot me a PM. Its would probably be more productive the calling me out on the BBS. This forum is full of that stuff and it never amounted to a damn thing.

Not getting HO'd is like getting a check6, they are both a gift and you should not assume that will always happen. If you have an opponent that does not HO, fine, if you have one that does, fine too just prepare for it.

I the big scheme of things what difference does it make? Just up another plane and fight again.

Ya know...I wasn't gonna get into this, but I just spent the better part of an hour that I could have been flying reviewing the film of my online time last night.....just to make sure the beer I had hadn't impaired my recollection of the events.  Nope, remembered it pretty much like it happened (just one of the things that was pounded into us during ACM training).

First off, before you go posting something like this on the BBS, you might wanna make sure you have your facts straight, or you could wind up looking like a complete imbecile.

Second...like slash has stated, if you have a problem with the way I fly, then either PM me in the game, PM me here on the boards, or send me an email (linky is at the bottom).  Whichever way, I will be more than happy to explain what/why/how (if I can) I did what I did.

Now as for last night, it is true that I fought against your squadmate, but we met only twice, and not three times.   The first encounter I found him engaged in a multiple vs. single (uh...he wasn't the single) fight, and jumped into the fracas.  As things evened out a bit, it was just us, and I wound up taking him out with a high angle deflection shot that killed the pilot.  I can see where this may have *looked* like a HO to him, but was not.

Second encounter, we started out 1v1 and I quickly gained his six.  He headed towards a friendly P40e, who entered the fight.  Tbarone, who had been staying high and out of the fight, came down to make a 2v2.  The 40 was buky something, and between Tbarone and me, we dispatched both planes.  Buky whined on 200 that he was leaving until things "got cleaned up" and was gone.  Never in that fight did I take anything that could even resemble a HO.

There was only one guy that I intentionally hoed last night, and that was brogy....we came to a merge, and he started firing, I avoided and on the second merge took him out.  If it's a 1v1, and you attempt to HO me on the first merge, you better make sure you kill me.

Thank you

BTW...Grits.....you told me you dumped Slash:confused: :(

Hehe, apparently you don't know sweet2th.  Past history shows that is the least of his worries.

I choose not to say anything in GAME.I am actually surprised that it was you doing that to be totally honest.

As for the rest of these Dee Da Dee's i never really cared what any of them think, never have and i never will.My main goal has always been to fill the arena with players.

I feel if your gonna post a MOTD sayin that the AvA STAFF SUGGESTS THAT YOU DO NOT HO < GANG< AND OR VULCH then the AvA STAFF members should not fly around HOing Vulching and or GANGING.:aok

Does alot of good to promote this arena to new players on the selling point that it isn't the MA same same, this is what mostly draws them in and the 1 Vs. 1 action what keeps them in.But when they see the MOTD and then see people totally ignoring it oh yea that makes the NEW PLAYERS wanna stay all right
