Texas joins the Third World

Didn't expect this from a city that boasts, "This is a city with a heart and with a soul. Cosmopolitan, yet unpretentious. Thriving cultural scene and vibrant nightlife. High-tech, low-key. Big city, college town. Quirky and far from ordinary, it's the kind of place where you check your worries at the city limits sign, trade in suits for something a bit more casual and prepare for experiences you'll find only in Austin."

Milwaukee has a problem too, on "Juneteenth" day.

Nothing to do with this, just druken college students.

Austin may be weird but 6th st should have a cage around it and gloves handed to every college student entering. I see atleast 3 fights every time i'm down there. makes for good entertainment watching 21 yro punks get tasered while drinking frosty beverages.

Suprised to hear that happened in Austin of all places.

I almost bought a condo the end of last year in downtown Austin right across from Town Lake. I still kick myself for not doing it, seems like a great place to live. (other than something stupid like tthat happening)

It's not difficult to guess the race of a large group celebrating Juneteenth.

I celebrated yesterday too, our 25th wedding anniversary.

I heard a little more info on the radio than the story gives.

Seems the child was not even injured. The car "bumped" him and stopped. An ambulance was called "just in case". The incident was 2 streets over from the Juneteenth party. The crowd heard a "Mexican ran over a black kid!" and went to the scene. It went downhill from there.

I lived in South Texas for a couple years and learned there is no racial hate like the hate between Hispanics and Blacks.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
