Possible FREE TA?
« on: June 20, 2007, 09:20:34 PM »
Will the TA ever be avalible to free players? I would very much love to play in the MAs, but I'm to young to have a job.

In 4 years, I will have the money. But, will the TA be open to free players within those 4 years?

I doubt it.

The TA is for training purposes. It is not meant to be a "free arena" for those who don't pay to fly in the Main Arena's.

If the TA was open to non subscribers it would degenerate to a full time day-care. As it is now, it's an unenjoyable experience when a trainer isn't in attendance to enforce the rules.

Did you know that the Free 8 player rooms are always available to non paying subscribers?

Yes, I am fully aware of the 8player arenas. Thats exactly why I would like to have the TA open to the F2P group. So we could get the training we need, instead of having 8 player furballs 24/7.

I've been playing for a year, maybe 2. I still don't know a ton of basic and useful combat maneuvers. The best I can do, is try to makeup my own maneuvers and outdo my opponent. Sometime it will work, but more than half the time it doesn't.

PS:

It's not that I don't WANT to play, it's just that I CAN"T pay.

Nice post Eskimo. It's nice to see someone of your age group who can still construct a coherent sentence with proper grammar. Keep up the good work!

I doubt HTC will open up the TA to non-subscribers but maybe a trainer will read your post and offer some help. I'm no Ace by any means, but would be happy to meet up with you in an H2H room and show you a few tips. PM me and maybe we can arrange it.

Good luck:aok

I echo Max's post as well.

I occasionally pop into the H2H rooms just to see who's lurking about. If you see me in there feel free to give me a shout anytime.

cheers, RTR

Even though you are too young to have a "real" job......you can mow lawns, do odd jobs, etc.... and save up a couple hundred bucks.

Then you need to get a parent to help you go to a bank and establish a checking account.  You should be able to get a debit/check card with that account.

Once you have this all in place you can go online and use the debit/check card to set up an account with HTC.  At $14.95 a month you will need to have about $180.00 for a year, so you will need to plan on adding at least that much per year to keep it going.

Ask the parents. At first, they may think it is expensive to pay monthly, but this is an example I used to convince them, don't know if it will work for you.

I am an owner of a PS3. My dad gets me a game, lets say, every two months. That is 60 dollars every two months (30 a month), which is 360 dollars a year. However, AHII is 15 a month so that comes to 180 a year. I also said it is crucial to my carreer in the AF and stuff. :)

Well, that is where your family differs from mine, and probably from the starter of this article: they can't afford the PS3, or any of the games to it. On our income, it is hard to afford the gas to go to work, let alone the internet account for work access at home, and then an account for a GAME??? Why spend money on a game, when you can play it for free on the 8 player H2H and offline?

If that is acctible enough for you then you wouldn't be in a position to complain.

If not, then you could do something to generate enough income to pay the $14.95 a month.  When I was a kid my brother and I used to collect & recycle aluminum cans and newspapers. We had to pay our dad for the gas it took him to drive us around to collect them from the neighbors and to/from the recycling center but we still made money.  You could also mow lawns.  Even if you only charged $10 bucks a lawn, you would only have to mow 18 lawns to be able to pay for a years worth of Aces High.

Oh, and "Why spend money on a game, when you can play it for free on the 8 player H2H and offline?" you ask?

Well, I'll answer you with a question.....why do people spend money on crack or heroin?

That's the difference between the MA's (crack/heroin) and H2H (caffine).  :D

Thanks for all the help guys!

Every job oppurtunity I get, I will take as long as there is some money involved. Currently I have about 40bucks to my name, but I want to save up for a 360 hard-drive. I also want the XboxL-BRAINSOMETHING!!!

I just remembered that a currently have a subscription to another game called Dragon Realms. DR is a fun game, me and my brother sometimes play it together. Its text based, and super fun. If I cancel that, I could coax my dad into subscribing me to this game!

I feel proud of myself sometimes.:aok

So, in other news, Thank you all for your help and support, even though I may sometimes be an (insert donkey here):noid

Lol, lawn-mowing season quite short in Alaska I'd imagine. SOME H2H rooms are quite fun, if ya can find one that doesn't have unlimited ammo---almost all of those have tempests opening up on the HO at 2k, praying for that ONE ping:huh

Well how bout creating your own room in H2H with a name of "Training" or some such variation. That will probably attract a few different types of people both more and less experienced. You can teach the former, and learn from the latter.

He can shovel drive-ways :aok

H2h Does suck, rarely have a good fight there.

As a matter of fact, I believe it was RTR that I had one of those fights with while trying to show my cousin how to fly.

Max and RTR are both good guys, EJ. You'd do well to take up their offer.
