Cheney is a sovereign nation
« on: June 21, 2007, 03:13:22 PM »
The Office of Vice President Dick Cheney told an agency within the National Archives that for purposes of securing classified information, the Vice President's office is not an 'entity within the executive branch' according to a letter released Thursday by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Flat out lying headlines.

“for purposes of securing classified information” which is entirely correct.

I'm wondering what parts of this story have been conveniently left out, considering the source (Raw Story, left wing rag)

attacking the source and not the content isn't debating the issue.

Fact is that DC doesn't want his office to have to preserve records as required by law. So he's going to ignore said law, same ol, same ol.

If you slog thru what and how an executive order works and then think about why Cheney did this it becomes moot. Only if the president really gets upset will something come out of this other than Waxman and the media having yet another feeding frenzy on Cheney is the left hand of Bush/Lucifer and drinks the bloood of new borns.

Cheney has locked down his office since the Palme B.S.. Armitage outed her, but one of Cheney's staff payed because a witch hunt in D.C. is always great entertainment and you never know how many other scandels can be generated and careers you can ruin in the process. Waxman is a low rent politician trying to make his legacy bones as the "Bulldog of the Potomac". The media is having a slow news week and knows any administration Lib or Con can string this kind of a burp out for 4-8 years if they want to.

2008 a new V.P will be in office and all of Cheney's current classified documents will have been turned in to the archive. End of B.S. moot point.

I wish E.T. would finally land and hold a press conference so the media and the Kook base would have something a bit more interesting to frenzy about.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

Since he's stated that he's not part of the Executive Branch, it looks like the House of Representatives will be discussing removing his office from the executive funding bill next week.  Makes sense.
