17th kill! I'm getting the hang of it. =D
« on: June 21, 2007, 08:27:00 PM »
Hey guys. As most of you may know, I am new to this community, and I've been having troubles with the sheer difficulties of this game...

But last night, and today, I've finally gotten the hang of it. =D I can accurately shoot an AI (yes, just an AI for now, multiplayer will come later when I'm more experienced) out of the sky, and with a mouse as well. I practiced hard all day, the first day I got the game (which was about 3 days ago), and it sure paid off. =D I shot down 4 enemy planes the second night, and 13 enemy planes this noon. 17 kills! Hoorah!

Sorry if this is going off subject, but yeah, just wanted to let this out in the public...xD

Although you are only practicing there is no better practice than trying to shoot at other players in the MA.

If you plan on entering multiplayer, let me tell you this:

Prepare to get shot down. A lot.

Congrats! I just love watching those drones explode! Then they re appear out of thin air! It's like a buffet of planes that you can just make explode. Of course, it is alot more satisfying in the MA, because alot of people make you work for it.

Congrats on your kills!!!!

May I suggest to you a stick prior to making the leap into the Main Arenas.

Good cheap starter stick can be purchased for under $25.00 (stay away from Logitek)..

I use the Siatek ST290Pro and its only $25.00 works fairly well, but lacks enough hats for my liking..

And when you do make the leap to the arenas dont be discouraged you are going to get killed (as stated) ALOT.. But you will learn faster and in a few months you will be killing more than you get killed..

Welcome and Enjoy!!!

Yes, I've had my 290 for 4-5 years now and it still works great.

I just bought a Saitek Aviator. Pretty nice starter stick. 40 bucks. Enough buttons. The only problem I have is the throttle is in front of the stick so you have to reach around the stick for the throttle.

I use a Saitek Cyborg Evo, a wireless stick.

Great stick, has a knob to change the 3 buttons below the hat up or down, a knob to tilt those buttons left or right, and another knob you can take out and move the wrist rest up or down.

I'd reccommend it if you want a wireless stick, but you need to change batteries every few days, so get some rechargables and a station and sit it on your desk.

Welcome and enjoy-like ^^^^ said-- the addiction!  I'm still bad but still learning, if you need some basics, let me know.  But get out there and fly in the main-get shot down and learn the basics!  Have fun - and stay off 200 (you'll get it later)
