indianapolis- What to do?
« on: June 22, 2007, 03:00:51 PM »
I'm going to visit a friend in Indianapolis, and wondering what fun things I can do there? Maybe meet O-cluber for beer?

I've been to Indy before and, sorry to say, it doesn't seem like there is much to do besides drink.  Hopefully your friend can plan a fun trip during your stay.

Dayton, Ohio isn't too far and might allow for one day of fun at the National USAF Museum.   I saw the F-117 for the first time during the 2003 AH Convention there, it was a blast.  This pic was taken during an airshow and I do not think an exhibit exists at the museum (?).

There is an F-117 on static display in the museum.

When they first opened up the new modern jets hangar at Wright Patt a few years ago the view when you first entered was awesome.  There was an F22 sitting dead center with an enormous American flag above it.  That was all you could see on the walk up the ramp until you entered the hangar and it was badass.  Kinda like "America, **** yeah!"
