I worked with a guy, a tool & die maker, that was Nazi youth. Weird guy and very selfish. He lives in North Carolina. 1980's was a USA work glut. He left his family in NC, lived in a YMCA in White Plains, NY and found work here. For 3 years he did that. Only went home on long holidays and vacations to see his famly. He was an honorable guy to do that for his family, but he was a strange fellow. He was a good tool maker.
A lot of post WW II Germans here in USA after 1960 because of the Space Race and the need for skilled people and the USA does not have the Guild system and actually abandoned apprenticeships.
Nazi's? Actually, the whole WW II scene here is a bit of a joke. Most combat vets had enough of it and even quit deer hunting because of the horror of it. I know combat vets that will not talk about their combat experience. Some will, but only with fellow comrades that understand it.
