they filmed part of that just down the street from where I used to live.  had to put up with 2 weeks of parking a half mile down the street because of all the damn movie trucks.

Just as soon as it's on HBO.

I like Bruce Willis and I still think there's life left in the Die Hard series. But, I'm afraid this one is going overboard with the cartoonish CGI stunts. I thought they had set the mark in DieHard2 when he used the C-130's ejector seat or sliding down the cable onto the ship and falling 100's of feet to the steel deck. I was wrong.

Taking out a badguy by jumping out of a speeding police car that hits a bridge abutment and ricochets skyward into a flying helicopter is a bit much.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

It'll probably be the first of the "die hards" that I'll see at a theatre.

I'm very reluctant about seeing a PG-13 Die Hard movie.

actually, i watched an interview with willis recently and he said that they made a decision to do more real stunts and less cgi stunts in this film.  so it may not be quite so bad on that level this time around.

Maybe times have changed.  What was RATED-R back then (early 90s) is now just PG-13:aok

The trailer shows a dozen CGI stunts completely outside the realm of even being a remote possibility. Ruins the whole thing for me, and I LOVE the Die Hard series.

In fact, the majority of the CGI stuff in action movies these days ruins it for me. Action movies have sunk to the level of trying to "one up" each other with absurd CGI stunts, each one exceeding the last in stupidity. Outrageous CGI stunts have replaced scripts, plots, and everything else actually worth watching in movies. The last bond with Brosnan in it was a prime example. It's ruined the whole genre for me. I hate it. But it saves me from spending stupid amounts of money going to see movies at the theater.

I 100% agree. The Bond film was running thru my mind when I first posted. Ruined the series for me. I have'nt seen Casino Royale, yet. It's suppossed to be very good with very little CGI.

as long as theres no wire fighting, the correct application of contrast and doesnt last one second longer than it should...it'll have a good number of recent action movies beat.
