Like many things Lazs, most of it is garbage, but some of it is great.

some of the animation i enjoy...grew up on some of that stuff..and if it wasnt for starblazers..we would be watching laugh olympics and rocky n bullwinkle slash fred flinstone style anime...i read that all the cartoons had to step up there quality cause of starblazers..up to that point they were cheap and not pulling any 3d style action..as dated as starblazers is today..back when it came out it was a break threw in animation...it made all the cartoonist scramble to update the cheap generic style cartooning that most of us grew up with.

Saw it last night. The Qatar sequences reminded me of the Mechwarrior 4 intro. Same style.

Pretty good movie for the 2nd link. Actually suggest it over the first one.

I thought they did a great job of making the helicopter seem very menacing/mysterious in the first part of the film.  The soldiers were hailing it, then it cuts to a high angle shot of the chopper droning on through the desert with no answer. Not sure why they didnt use the force from the F22s that they said they would.

Because it's a Michael Bay film.

I got curious and checked "Starblazers" (from meatwad's).  I must say you guys that grew up in 70s and 80s had good anime showed on off-the-air antenna TV compared to today.

Today, most new animes that are in the same calibre as "starblazers" or  "robotech" are only showed on premium cable in the U.S., I guess they must be "too good" to be showed on national tv:D

starblazers was quite violent..lol and cool story lines.. how they found the yamato and turned it into a space ship to fight the bad guy aliens that bombed earth ..but i had to wake up at 5 in the morning to catch it.

when the argo{yamato} let loose with its main guns and fly threw the ememy spaceships. then a nice delayed explosion..that was pure cool for a 7 year old kid..lol. i have downloaded a few old episodes just cause its been ages sence i seen it..it was still entertaining...and great to see how they pulled off the old school 3d action...but like i said..its dated compared to the advanced anime now days. but have to remmeber that was 25 years ago or more..lol

I'm curious, have you seen at least one anime?  I would like to hear more with your holier-than-thou approach :)
