retirement ~ a dream of the past
« on: June 30, 2007, 08:45:03 PM »
I'm putting together a little collection of pictures to display in my home. All military related (but also entirely not military related).  They'll be displaying scenes from different time periods, but will all fit together.

A soldier courting a gal.
A farewell.
A battle.
An 'away' scene (her).
A return.
Retirement.

I don't think I can paste this awesome picture into here, so I'll just add the link. http://www.victorianweb.org/painting/millais/paintings/22.html

Went to an army retirement ceremony yesterday. It was great. Made me think of this collection again (the retirement picture is my favorite of them all).

Ya had me worried TxMom. I thought TxDad went to Bossier City and bet the farm on 17-Black.

This'll drive RPM nuts.

When my oldest brother retired guess who came out to make a speech about his career and hand out a freefall (skydiving) award?
