every one keeps asking for new planes new tanks new ships

But we need new maps

maps with strat tgts maps with vallys and hills maps with water

some maps that are not stale boring and depressing.

i used to spend hours plying this game almost every night now i am lucky if i fell like playing 10 minutes a wekend.

This game was good but now its gone stale, maps too small or just vuc=lching hordes are not fun for me.

I agree with all these recent posts about new maps, but how about this...

You try making a good, well balanced, interesting map.  It isn't all that easy, and it's pretty damn time consuming.

Also I believe that players have the option of submitting maps to HTC, so maybe some of the better map makers will think about this.

there are 17 MA maps already made 6 or so are in rotation you do the math. It not that they dont have the maps they just refuse to put them into the rotation.

Despite my better judgement I'm going to chime in on this...

The old large maps won't work with the current arena setup. At least not from the player numbers point of view.

People complained that the maps weren't resetting often enough when the large maps were online. They'd reset less often if they were put up with the current arena setup.

People send maps in that don't conform to the requirements for the main arenas. Even when they know the requirements and have been warned they will be rejected they choose to go with their own idea of what an MA map should be and send them in anyway. Then they have a hissy fit when they are rejected.

My own thoughts
I have a ton of terrains (a CD full) that with a little work would be done and ready for the main arenas. BUT, every time I see someone bash a map (mine or someone elses) I wonder why I even bother.

I enjoy making maps. I could pump out one a month, heck one a week if I was motivated enough. (Don't worry Skuzzy, it ain't gonna happen any time soon;) ) And motivation is scarce when players I respect suddenly turn around and "hate" a map that they "loved" five months ago. And I would bet this is why anyone that's made a map doesn't do them regularly.

So for me it comes down to this... If I feel like working on a map I do. When it's done, it's done. I'm not making any special effort to make maps any more.

I'd say make them anyway NHawk.

If half hate them, half will love them, so just ignore the first half. :aok

What happened to the last map you made? The one that was kinda like a pinwheel. It was in the MA for a while, and was good, but i dont remember if it was a big map.

That's Compello. So far as I know, it was the largest map ever made. It was in the MA a few times before the arena split and it was used when the capture/battle flow experiment took place, but that's the last time it was used. So I doubt it will come back anytime soon. :)

And I hate to correct you, but the last map I made was either Mid Mesa or SmPizza. I submitted them both at the same time and they went into rotation at the same time. And from what I can tell both have turned from the most loved to the most hated. :)

Compello
Mid-Mesa
Small Pizza

ok too who said why dont i make a map well i have a couple of times then things got changed so i didnt finish them, now i have a problem in that i cant get the terrain editor to work properly for me since they did the last editor update.

Nhawk your maps are good i wont say anything else  but even a good map goes stale if its on day in day out and only seems to be the one on when u can get in to a arena.

i like the small pizza map and but seeing it day in day out and still gettting it after the reset is the main problem.

I love NHawks Compello map, its the one i use in Offline arena.
It is probably one of most evenly balnced maps in the game and it would get into the rotation again if they fixed the arena setup...........

Keep making those maps mate, we'll go on strike if we have to get them back in rotation:aok :aok
