The corsair, along with a select few other planes, is not easy to take off in without practice. It also has quirks when landing (as do those other select planes), and you may touch down safely only to find yourself ground looping moments later. If you really are re-learning from scratch I would very much suggest something similar to a F4U, but not an F4U. Try an F6F, for example. Move back to the F4U after a lot of practice.

Thanks Krusty, how to lock the tail wheel was what I was looking for.
Locking the tail wheel in WB isn't nessesary and the rudder will always return to center which I don't think happens on take off in AH, although in flight it does. In IL2 there is a key stroke to lock the tail wheel and I thought there would be here but could never find it. As for auto take off :rofl I'd never use it, I feel a little dweebish for using combat trim.

Squire; Sniper becomes Chanter :huh thought he be Piper or something along those lines, didn't he take up the Bag pipes? :)

I may just take you up on that offer.

Seems like alot of people that play AH are from either WB or AW. I feel like I'm the only one that came from Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 1 (European Front). Thats where I learned to fly from the Eagles Squadron. Man I miss those British guys :(

Savlan -- ncie explanation and I'm sure ROC will make good on that reward.  Just be forewarned that the sheep he offers will be from the CM dorm.

Yes, he did indeed take up the pipes, he's actually going to Moscow in a few months time for an international tatoo of pipers.

I imagine they will be getting a few folks up early. ;)
