If you can ever locate a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro Force Feedback, that is a very very durable joystick.  I use one currently and have had it ever since I had a 486 DX25, well over 10 years old and never glitches.  My hands are not big and this joystick  is not cumbersome and full of 50,000 switches and buttons you probably will never use. I have the force feedback unhooked from the a/c adapter and use mine that way, ie no centering springs or anything, the handle literally flops around.  It makes it very nice to shoot when I get in a GV and go to tanktown.

One bad thing tho is since it wont center itself when you let go is if you are on autopilot it can drift out of center and lose autopilot.  But I am used to it and like the way it works very much.

I dread the day when it ever quits.

Hey Sho, come see me in the TA sometime!

Heck you can even set a "date" if that works better. (Wink)

Lets see if we can't get you blowing chunks off planes first and worry about picking up names later.  :)

Good hunting.
ST290 isn't a bad stick and very affordable at just $20 from WalMart, been using mine for a couple of years now and no problems, not even needed to recal like I did on a regular basis with the Evo.
