wheel brakes
« on: July 09, 2007, 10:12:33 PM »
I have run into an issue with brakes on aircraft.  Namely they stopped working.   Normally I have them programmed to the slider on my x52.
Here is what I have tried so far.

1) checked stick programming and tried swapping from slider to a key.
2) tried remapping to the keyboard on several keys.
3) checked x52 software to see if it had arbitrarily decided that the slider mapped to some key,,,,it does not.
4) relogged
5) cursed repeatedly in a loud voice after crashing an me262 from lack of brakes.

Any ideas?  The only thing I havnt done that I can thing of is a reinstall.

have you tried default breaks, that would be the SpaceBar, and thats for all brakes. the C button is for left brake, cant remember right brake.

I am assuming you are talking about the analog brakes in the analog command list.  Did you try calibrating the slider you were/are using for the brakes?

Yes I have calibrated it and according to the test it is working properly.

Yes I know that the default is spacebar and that doesnt work either.  I have tried reprogramming it from the spacebar to other keys as well.  Currently it is back on the spacebar.

Did you calibrate it in the game?

There are "Wheel Brakes" in the Flight section which should always be mapped to the by default, then there is the analog brakes in the "Map Controllers" section which can be mapped to a slider.

If you map "Wheel Brakes" to a slider, they will not work.
