Convicted in May, executed in July.  You think it will send a message?

All I learned from China is Nepal.    That told me enough.   To hell with Communism, it's about death, and more death.

masher..

well.. a few people may die in order for the noble cause of socialism to flourish... It seems a small price to pay for equality for all.   After all.. the end justifies the means right?

Well...

If we took some of our millionaire lawmakers and politicians to the gallows for being corrupt and milking the system, maybe it will give the rest of them a moment of pause. Why must executions stop at the lowest rung of the social ladder?

At least the Chinese, when they talk about being tough on criminals (or farmers, or students, or teachers, or doctors, or Tibetan Monks, or anyone else who dissents), actually do something about it. By comparison, we are rather soft on criminals. Except for the scum who kill cops, that's a whole other ballgame.

The scum who have the money to hire a defense team the size of an NFL franchise seem to get a free pass, is that fair and just?

I mean, the death penalty is a deterrent, afterall, yes?

I liked the Y2K compliance measures AirChina took. They made all high ranking executives be in flight when Y2K rolled over.

One thing GOOD they did was track down and put on trial a group of pirates that had taken over vessels in an area from Maylaysia/Indonesia to the Chinese coast....

Same MO over & over...board unarmed ships, kill the crews, change the name of the ship, sail to a non-hostile port...sell the booty, split the cash.

They were all tried and shot in the head by Chinese soldiers on national TV.

Outside of that...that place is pretty sick.

No wonder those that can come to the US and Canada in droves.
