5 and 8" volume control
« on: July 10, 2007, 11:03:16 PM »
I have looked over and over the "game sounds" to adjust volume on the 5" and 8" guns on cruiser/CV and nothing ive adjusted seem to help... is there a way to lower the volume on these? Driving me and several others nuts... (but i have to admit.. they do sound pretty cool.. lol)

Well if you have a subwoofer hooked up to your computer just turn the bass all the way down, thats what I do.

I believe it is "explode1" or "explode3", but there is no apparent adjustment for volume.

I use custom sounds, and while I can adjust the volume of those sounds in preferences, it has no effect on the guns, which play back far louder than anything else.

You could go into a sound editor and manually decrease the audio that way. Save it and then it will be much quiter

That works, but that would only apply to custom sounds since HTC changed the default sounds from wavs to whatever they use now, right?

I didnt know they were changed. I do use a sound pack but with a few of my personal sounds.

Example, I have a 60's model turbo diesel Duece and a half as the sounds for my M3. Currently working on using a diesel locomotive as another GV sound but havent decided on what I want to use it with.

In that case, try decreasing the volume of the .wavs outside the game, ie with windows sound recorder or some other audio editor. That's how I got a few sounds set to more tolerable levels.

you know I griped about this oh, 3-4 years ago LOL

I have never seen a legitimate way to do this, and with the way HTC does not have the actual *.WAV files in the sounds folder it is almost impossible.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Yeah, I hate the audio interface, even in it's improved layout. I still don't see why you can turn your engine sounds to zero, but not the ship guns.
