Found the problem and it was me, the control that movied the sight left/right  had changed to one on my X52 control knobs. thats the last problem I had with Vista. everything runs fine now so will have to wait and see what issues come up later with it. My X52 is working better with Vista for some reason.

Wow.

I've only had one problem with AHII and Vista.

One.

And it was repaired in the time it took me to google "vista AND mic AND boost".

I think, kilz, that you speak from inexperience. AHII plays exactly the same for me as it did when I was running XP.

If the game play better than it did on your XP machine, it is simply due to your XP installation being really messed up.  The game does run about 25% slower under Vista on the same hardware as it does under XP.

No way around that.

Every Vista installation will be different in terms of stability.  The operating system has many bugs right now and so do most of the drivers for it.  Different combinations of hardware will yeild different results.

Yes, on the same hardware AH does run slower under Vista than XP. Nevertheless AH runs fine under two different versions of Vista on two different machines in my case with no issues (three if you count a laptop - that kinda sucks but only because it's a laptop). Newer hardware makes a big difference. Heck, the big box stores are selling some quad core machines today for less than $1K. I hear Intel is dropping chip prices even further again sometime this month.

Vista has some real problem issues in other areas for some people and somebody is going to have issues in AH too, but they still have issues with XP after all this time. People are always going to have some degree of problems with either OS. No point in scaring off new potential subscribers.

Now if I could just get it to run right under Linux/Cedega/Wine... but that's my problem.

So far I run the same FR under Vista that I did with XP. the only differents I've seen is my X52 is working better, Buttons can be set and hold the settings. I know I had problems with XP the last few months, why I went to Vista.

Going to run Mark 3/5 and see how it compares with my XP scores.
3DMark03 XP 17,233
              Vista 16,422

3DMark05 Vista 5949 cannot find old XP score but somewhere in the 6100 range
not 25% slower on my machine
