Found Warbirds in 98 played there until about late 2001 early 2002. I tried AH when it went beta but my computer couldnt handle it, I was getting about 5 FPS. Once I built a new system and I could give AH a fair shot I made the switch. I had a year of downtime when AHII came out and my computer fried, my laptop couldnt handle it. But the day I got my new system I signed up for a new account and was back at it.

Kesmai's Air Warrior on GEnie in 1987.
Warbirds from 1.1x to Warbirds III.
Fighter Ace and WWII On-Line for good measure.

You'd think I'd be better at this by now  :D

My first flight sim was Solo-Flight for c64 back in like 1984 or so. Played offline all kinds of sims until AW in 1996 on AOL. Since then I played this back when AW died for a little bit. Switched to WW2OL for 3 yrs, went back and forth between the 2, had a very short stint in Fighter Ace, and for the past 3-4 yrs have played here. When I close my eyes at night, I have a gun sight pipper burned into my retnas.

Started flying online in 1996 just after I got married. At first was flying A10Cuba over Kali then discovered Warbirds and the 332nd Flying Mongrels. (Those were the days eh James :)  ) Owe Vond more than I can ever repay for his endless patience getting me started.

Flew Warbirds just about 4 full years. Started here in early beta (Wilbuz dragged me over one day) And i've been hooked and here pretty much ever since.

I started in Air Warrior in July 1998 and played it until the plug was pulled.  By then I was also playing AH and have been here ever since.  I did try WWIIOL for a while.  Although I have not played as much over the last year or two I have never really left.  I mainly play in the scenarios now.  :)

I think a lot of "old timers" come and go.  You almost have to take a break now and then, or you'd go nuts.  lol

Started when Air Warrior (before it was called Air Warrior 1) went live on AOL.  Been comin' and goin' since.  Just re-enrolled again today, in fact.  :)

By the way, old Air Warriors, there is a scenario coming up in August (Rangoon, '42) that was designed by DoK.

If any of you want that AW-scenario feeling, please come join us.  Registration is open now.  Details are here:

Hummm...will it be 12 frames running Wednesdays and Weekends?

I thought not... :)  That's what it will take to get the REAL AW-scenario
feeling...that and DoK getting on your case :)

I started on MS Flight Sim for DOS (When having 512K of RAM was a FAST machine) I was thrilled to get a color monitor because I could finally see the "realistic" terrain! I'm not sure what tour it was, but I first played AHI when the towns were tiny and you only got 1 Buff. Played the ill fated MS Combat FS online, and when I got tired of flying against AI planes in the underpopulated skys of Combat Filght Sim I came back to AH. I was shocked at how much better AHII was than the old AHI... Took a hiatus and learned to fly RW airplanes, was a partner ina Piper PA-28 Cherokee (N5556U) and now am back in Aces High for good! My Aces High GameIDs have been: Gotcha2, ReTrain and now MAJissue. In total Aces High hours, I don't know If I'm qualify as an old timer, but I have been in Flight Sims for a good bit of time.

BTW, Flight Simulators taught me VOR Navigation and made my ground school a breeze.
