Remember that GV spawn that put u on the near vertical side of a mountain and you'd flip over.  It was fixed btw.

bases alt/positioning advantage for NW team(with green in Lusche's map) ,wich i never seen reset, in 5 years,

I seen that reset a few times but I take your point of it being difficult.

I can only reprise:

"But as a given map is up 2-4 times a tour, every country will get reset corner once in a while, so I personally could not care less about that"

I don't know how to state more clearly that I don't care about percieved imbalance and I do want to see Mindanao back

I saw the NW corner reset once, was after I drove a sector and a half in an M3 sometimes having to reverse over the mountains to the 163 base. I snuck under 5 planes and took the base... Was really an awsome take because at the time I took the base there were probabbly 8 to 10 163's trying to take off and getting shredded by all the nice ack that poped on the base :aok

Instead of bringing back Mindanao I think the creator must start from scratch.

Please use Visayas, one of the three island groups in the Philippines (the others are Luzon and Mindanao)

Philippines

Visayas

Gotta love those white sands in Visayas :)

Yer i seen the west reset a few times but the fun was all the hi bomber raids to HQ.  You'd blast off in ya 163's for some right old jollies.

Had good fights A4 to A5.  A21 when captured was a tough fight between  A20 / A21.  A1 was always a fight with the adjacent easterly base....forgot number.

Those SB's and PT spawns all around the map.  I once got 19 PT's from a SB lol.

Remember A5 spawns both out and in or A4 spawns in an out.  Bet they'd work well still for the GV crew.

Would be nice to have another crack at it.

Lynx,

I've not flown for 6 months or so.  Do I understand correctly that the maps have "stalled" for want of a better word?

For the reset guys, i can see the problem -- and it is big enough to pull the map.

But I hate to say that, because there doesn't seem to be ANYTHING like the valley fights we had in Mindanao. Those valleys were shaped like bowls, and once one got going there seemed to be a steady stream of players joining in.

Attention Mapmakers !
The valleys were steep, deep, and small enough that high E planes entering had to be very careful if they tried to pick a low E plane in at the bottom of the bowl. That feature alone balanced the fights enough that it was fun to be EITHER the low E or the High E plane. Can't think of another map where that's true.

Common sense is trying to not be an idiot right now

Sit Rep.....we are on 6 small maps.  Depending on the strat guys  the maps can be 2 to 3 days or a week.  Nearer a month with TT before rest.

There is some discourse over the same old same old, month in month out.  Meanwhile some guys are making or are attempting to make new terrains.  These have to be completed and submitted for approval. The players are grateful for these attempts and can't wait !  I wish I knew my away around the terrain maker.

If you got the new terrain update before you last played you'll find all your old larger terrains in OFF LINE play have been updated also.

Folks are wondering why Mindanao isn't in rotation.  What with it being similar in size to TT map.

One can only speculate as to why the older larger terrains ain't used and there's no point in it.

Hope all is well with you and yours.  Keep a weekly revue of the boards HAP.....you never know:D

PS

Oh bollocks....this is why it's not used as posted by Festa

need pacific water and textures bad though like all other island or pacific maps.

New terrain is Europe style..... no jungle or blue blue sea......buggery.

Love to see this thread re-visited. I know there is some controversy about having the 'reset' corner of the map. Unfortunately, that's the way it is. I think Mindnao was one of the most unique and realistic maps that I've experienced. Hopefully, HTC is working on a way to get this map or any map in rotation. :noid

Regarding questions of maps, I find HTC very responsive to queries.

Maybe not as fun as speculation and beefing though.

And yes, I like to beef too from time to time.  :)
