Freezing in game randomly (Read FAQ)
« on: July 16, 2007, 02:30:26 PM »
Alright I know this should be added to my post below but it doesnt let me edit or reply to it and I need to contact webmaster and I already did and Im still waiting for a response so since it was taking a while. I think the prob is it is logging me off before I can type the reply or edit and when im at the relog screen and enter stuff it goes off the forum i was in.  I decided to get the info I have under video settings to see how I can prevent my game from freezing.
I have a 256MBATI Radeon X1300 PRO  graphic card.
Here is what I have checked under video settingsL Hardware vertex process and optimize objects and optimize terrian.

My max texture is 128 which is lowest it will go

the screen resoultuon I have is 1024x768

and as of frame rate Unlimted

the other 2 choices for frame rate were 45 and 60

Thanks,

when you run the DXdiag, once its finished.... takes a couple minutes sometimes.... on the bottom there is a button thats says "save al info" or something. Click it and save it to your desk top. Open to file iin a text editor.... notepad, word.... cut and paste the first 30% of the info.... all of it won't fit in a post, and they only need to see the first third any way.... then paste it in a post here.

followed the link in the amd thread which one should i use with xp.
Since Im not the greatest with comps. I think I should let someone who knows tell me.  And if I do the patch, do I need to do the steps in the thread.  If so, I guess Dell will be spending yet another 1-6 hours with me..........
These are the two I saw with June 2006 which is what post said

Machine Check Analysis Tool (MCAT) - Machine Check Analysis Tool (MCAT) is a command line utility that takes Windows System Event Log (.evt) file as an argument and decodes the MCA Error logs into human readable format. MCAT can alternatively take in MCE Error information as raw register hexadecimal values as command line argument as well.

THis one looks like it is what im looking for so i downloaded incase bu havnt in stailed yet.

AMD CPUInfo - This Windows® application executes and displays the return data from the CPUID instruction set and displays HyperTransport™ technology information if the processor supports it. This application also shows the maximum speed of the processor.
Thanks

I do not know what you are talking about.  The patch you want is the AMD Dual Core Optimizer patch.  It has no negative impact on your computer and fixes a problem with the dual-core implementation.

I also recently add the amdcpusetup.exe thning to fix the dual core problem now I cannot even log into the game?? Instead I get a greenish looking clipboard to log onto the server which immediately locks up when I log online and same goes when I try to logon off line...This all occurred after I added the patch??  Ok so how many things did I mess up and should I just delete the game and do a clean install.. ??
