Here in a Chicago suburb they voted on giving police the power to deport illegal immigrants for violent crimes and drug activity.

I hope more places started to look at this.

deporting them does no good, they just come right back in.

the govt needs to set up work camps and rent out the illegals to the poor growers and manufacturers that want cheap labor.

it's a win-win-win, the illegals get work, the growers/mfgs get cheap labor, and the govt gets more funding.

i so smart it scare me.:D

I grew up in Waukegan (1960's), the population was:

Caucasian:  70%
Black:          20%
Latino:        10%

Today:

Latino:        70%
Black:          20%
Caucasian:  10%

There was a lot of diversity there when I grew up, and I really enjoyed that.  It was like living in a "Little United Nations"

There were VERY large communities of:

Armenians, Lithuanians, Poles, Germans, Norweigians, Finns, Serbs, Macedonians, Greeks, Slivoenians, and Italians.  Include many Jewish folks from ALL OVER Europe who were Holocaust survivors, some Russians, as well as your dislocated Scots-Irish Southerners like myself.

If you couldn't speak at least a little German, Lithuanian, or Polish, you had trouble finding kids on the playground to play with.

Back then, for the most part, it was a peaceful community where people respected other peoples culture and backgrounds.

It's changed since then, and the influx of Latino folks began in the mid-'70's and steam-rolled in the '80's and 90's...not that there is anything to blame on Latino folks (good people, good friends and team mates), but not all the families arriving did so through the proper immigration channels.

Waukegan has had a MAJOR illegals problem since the late 70's.

It might serve to have those illegals convicted of crimes during their stay, SERVE their prison time, all the while working inside the joint to pay for their OWN deportation home...instead of it being at taxpayer expense.  Have their photos and prints in a national database, and enact a law that if illegals convicted and deported ever return?.....double the sentance...lather...rinse, repeat...wipe hands on pants.

I expect that if I ever "broke into" a foreign nation, breaking their laws, and were convicted of a crime...I'd be expected to serve MY time and never return.

It's expected to be a good host....it's also expected to be a good guest, where ever you go.
