The Clowns lifted from A75 in heavy P-47N's, we had 8 pilots on. When we were clear we dropped our ords and linked up with The Killuminati who were also in P-47N's. Our mission was to defend the Maastricht area A72 in 7,14,8. We climbed to 25k, after patrolling for about 10min after we reached our target alt we saw the fuel depot start flashing so we made our way into that direction. We couldn't see any enemy con's, after a couple more min we saw A72 start flashing so we raced towards it as fast as we could. When we got there we still couldn't see anything so me and 2 other squadies dropped to the deck to see if they were low. As soon as I went into my dive I saw a hanger go down, so I called for the rest of my squad to drop to the deck with me. When I got in icon range of the enemy I saw a swarm of 110's, there was another squad already in-gaged with them. It was already too late to prevent the 110's from taking out all the hangers, there were about 10-12 110's but we were able to easily mop them up with few loses on our side, on the Clowns end we only lost one, maybe two pilots.
After that those of us that needed to re-armed at A72, we were trying to get our CiC to give us a secondary target to go after since A72 had all it's hangers down and shouldn't have anymore enemy flights ib to it. The CiC wanted us to stay and defend it still because the town was still up, we tried to let him know that we thought that the town wasn't a target, and even if it was the Axis didn't know it was because the 110's ignored it even after they still had ammo and all hangers were gone. So after we re-armed we had to drop our ords again so we could patrol the area. After about another 20min we were told that the town wasn't a target so re-arm again and head to A12. At this point we only had 4 in my squad left due to some people having to leave, we also had Betty with us from The Killuminati. So we headed for A12, half way there we split into two groups of two, we went there NOE, with Betty staying with my group to give high fighter cover since she broke her gear and was unable to re-arm and get ords. We arrived at A12 and had no enemy fighter interference. We took out the last bomber hanger that was left, and took out the rest of the troop barracks. One of my squadies augered on his dive bomb run, and another was taken out by the ack from the strat next to A12. We egressed out west to head for A76 to land. Around A29 we ran into a 190, I took him out, but then 2 more showed up, Betty & Gaidin went down so it was just me and 2 190's, on the first 190 I popped his oil and his fuel, but his friend ended up taken me out:( .
I have to say this has to be my favorite FSO that I've been in so far, I've only been flying FSO since November 06 though. I've had my best FSO performance too:D , I normally choke on FSO's for some reason, but this frame I tied for 2nd pilot kills on the Allied side, would have been tied for first if I would have got that last 190 who's oil & gas I popped.
