we need to build on the italians they had good planes for their age here are a few:

G-55:nickname"centaruo" or the bull faster than the 205 and the 202

Fiat Cant Z.1007- trimoter for the water and on ground good for paratroopers
or the Sai Marchetti Sm.81

let me look in my encyclopedia of areonautics

and the Reggiane Re.2005- fighter named sagittapio (n idea what that means)

these all flew because this is my book of WW2 that I picked them out of chose the ones that you guys want and will give info on them

Here is your definitions (or should be close)

Macchi M.C. 202 "Foglore" - (Thunderbolt)
Macchi M.C. 205 "Veltro" (Greyhound)
Reggiane Re. 2005 "Sagittario" - (Sagittarius)
Fiat G. 55 "Centauro" - not sure here. Possibly Bull?

G.55 was in the popular vote that was held for the next plane.

There was a lot of lobbying for it in the forums at least. A plane that was considered better than it's 109 contemporaries, with 3 X 20mm cannons and a very nice ammo load out (200 to 250 rpg) for them, plus cowl guns, and the ability to carry ord.

Lost out in the very first round of voting among the online players.

direct from my encyclopedia:
it was the final generation of italin fighters it was the most sophisticated fighter of its time just it came too late in the battlefeild. daimler benz engine.
in the series of five (C205 RE2005 C202 G55 not sure what the last one is)
it was the best overall. it was unbeatable at high altitude fighting. when in the last year in the war it met some hard opponets such as the 51,47,spit and 38 and proven to be better then them all.
the armament of the G-55 was 3 20mm and 2mg's.
it went in operation in June 1943

that is just a sum up of the G-55 thans for the nicknames spiked

Its not series of five - it is the "5 Series" .... as in 55, 205 & 2005 .... there were 3 planes in the set.

The Series 5 fighters were and should be MW fighters, since they were operational in the first months of 1943.

The C.205 was lighter (about 300Kg) and slightly faster than the G.55, at least at 21-23K and under the 2.600rpm @ 1.3ATA limitation.

at high altitude the G55 was better than all series five fighters but was a late bloomer
