Comcast Unity Bash ver 1.0

Ok, We've all seen it and probably more of us that realize it, are having serious issues with Comcast.  ISP don't seem to care about online gaming where 'timing' is critical and can mean the difference between killing someone in game or getting killed.
It's frustrating.
So what do you do?
We all have our pingplotter results ready.
Does anyone work for comcast or know someone we can speak to , to provide these results in order to show them the serious deficiencies in their network infrastructure?
I'm getting pretty fed up.  I've been wondering what the issues were with me in game, seeing warping planes as you get up on them - spraying someone for 10 seconds of ammo while they fly with wild abandon.
Now I know that this won't solve all of the problems - but it starts by solving it on OUR ends.

Please, if anyone knows or can PM me some information as who to talk to - I would appreciate it.

DONT accept it's on your end.  If it is, it will show up in the first few hops ONLY.  These idiots want to send you a new cable modem or 'check your lines' which is ridiculous.  They are pushing you off while they offer an inferior product time and time again.

I'm sure they know of the "problem" and showing them evidence of a known "issue" seems a bit fruitless.

oddly enough, my comcast connection has been pretty good lately.. for awhile, our modem was losing connection, turns out that was a weak signal from outside the building, which they fixed when they sent a truck out to investigate.

when warping really sets in, my ping plotter usually shows the massive packet loss somewhere in texas with at&t.

Im on their forums now and going to go through that red tape in hopes that someone there will point something glaring out to me, or at least to show a paper trail.
Everyone I know that has comcast that I talk with , HATES comcast.  Maybe it's the big bad evil corporation hatred thing but it seems that more so in the last 2 years, everyone and their grandmother in my area is bashing comcast and are very happy to hear that Verizon is coming with Fios soon.

I work with verizon as a subcontractor doing support in niche areas for them whenever they are in a pinch, and just from talking to the almost 100% union people there, they are UNHAPPY with fios as a company as they fear it is going to abolish the 'old way' of things whereas, the company does what it needs to do to make it through the day and the customer is usually an afterthought.

They are REALLY bending over backwards with fios and want to be the competition for cable - the proof will be in QOS only in my opinion.  I could care less if it takes me 5 mins to download a cd version 7 minutes...what I care about is how often I get 'page can not be displayed' because comcasts dns servers take a dump one a day or and especially, if my connection is a stable one.

I'm hoping some kind person will chime in an give me some info on how to work around the red tape with their support. :(

I've worked for a major cable company in the internet tech support center and speaking from experience, most issues are not within the companies control.  There are two major problems i saw..

1. Something on the users end.  Most issues were ferreted out using a netstat and a traceroute.  Had a gamer swearing to and at me on the phone that his system was clean, yet a netstat brought up over 200 items, and on top of that we found that his roommates computer was heavily infected and on top of that someone was using his wireless network without his permission.

2. A server/servers outside of your ISP's sphere of control.

Most people will call in and swear there are major issues with the ISP when in reality it is one of those two things.  You have to remember that IF it is the ISP's issue they most likely know about it since it would be affecting hundreds if not thousands of people.

The ISP also has a lot of tools at their disposal that you don't.  The company i worked for had SNR, packet loss and modem connectivity data on all modems going back for 30 days, so when a person called in we could see quickly what was and wasn't happening from the modem's POV.

I could give you story after story about the things i saw and how the all-knowing customers made tulips of themselves by insisting that it was us.  I'm not saying the cable companies are infallible, BUT i am saying you had better be darned sure that it isn't something on your end.  There were a lot of people that i could have helped, only they were too arrogant and close minded to the possibility, and usually the fact, that the issue was on their end.  IIRC, the number of service calls that turned up a problem with the customers equipment or home was 98%.  The other 2% were bown rental modems or issues with non-ISP servers.
