Anybody go this year?

I was there for Tues night and Wed and left Thursday morning.

I entered my 1958 Skylane for judging on a lark and was suprised as hell to see that I won Outstanding Cessna 180/182/210 1956 to 1970. Now I really wished I had stayed for the awards last night.

Congratulations, Habu!  "Maybe next year" as is becoming a troubling theme for me.  I need to start making some money to take a small, noisy and 4 winged airplane painted red and white...

I won't have any excuses then.

I almost didn't go myself this year. I am sure glad I did. I was only there for Tues nigh Wed and Thurs morning.

But I will for sure go from now on.

Maybe next year I will see you there.

If a few things go my way I might have that small red & white 4 winged airplane.  Like I said...no excuses if I do :)

Ok I give up.

What type of plane are you talking about?

Four wings?

I'm insurable...I just can't seem to get over the obstacle of having the money to acquire and operate one.  If a few things go my way in the next year or so that could change :D

I suppose its more accurate to say 2 wings but I wouldn't want to get confusing

Stay at a friends?

You have to go and camp to get the true feeling of Oshkosh. Get sweaty and rained on. Walk to the showers in the mud. You know that sort of things.

How are you supposed to camp without camping gear?

Depends on which model you want...

As low as $15,000 I've seen for S-1Cs with 160hp motors (and most likely need reragged and umteen other things done) to bumping $200,000 for a new-built S-2C from Aviat.

I'd like to find an S-1S.  An S-2C is a dream that will have to wait a few years for my income to grow into it.  That second seat is expen$ive.  A Model 12 would be nifty too.  So many choices...

I'll probably be getting my feet wet with most likely an S-1C with hopes of an S-1S.

Mars can give you much better information about them than I can :)

Forget the Pitts. You will kill yourself in one of them. Too fast and too much HP.

Get a restored Stearman. If you can do acro in that you can do it in anything.
