A good lesson for newbies. So.. how to begin?

I have been playing for 3 months.. and managed to get my attack score down to the 420's during this mid month.. then I tried to focus on fighter skills since Im horrible at dogfighting. Finally, I start reading all the instructions.

1. I have been flying way out of trim. I can not stress the importance.
2. I have not been using full visablity range.. doh! that was really dumb.

So I get my self in trim, and use full visability- and I take out three tanks in one flight..

LESSON LEARNED.. read the F****** intructions!

beware you tankers.. cause I got a jug full of woop oscar for ya.. see you out there ;)

for real though.. I thought I had a good idea how the game was played.. still learning, but damn I made it hard on myself not reading about trim and visability.. would not wish that on any new comer

i dont use self trim unless im in a turn fight with some 1. but durin a furball i use combat trim. ive never seen self trim really make a difference.

I seemed to do okay.. I will take a FH or a VH or 2 hangers.. in one sortie, but it makes a difference in how accurate it is I think.. as far as visability goes.. previously I didnt see a tank above 500ft.. try to dive bomb with that handy cap

There is a class of people out here - I am a leader among them - who need basic information like this.  I appreciate Uriel's observations, and I'm sure there are others who do, too.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say most of us "old timers" are manually trimming our planes. I know I do. And it does make a difference.

To quote someone after a fight... "How'd you out turn a P51 in that 110 of yours?" :eek:

LOL...I've gotten that too!

I always take it as a compliment when I'm accused of cheating. It means I did something they can't figure out. :)

hmmm ... I have yet to find a 109 that will outturn a Spit ... go figure.
