Codec HELP!!!!!!!

anyone know how to change a normal clip to a codec? my windows media player wont play my windows movie maker in it.... says this



Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

try doing a search for K-lite codec pack.  Plays everything so far in wmp and doesnt seem to install anything nefarious.
