Less accurate feild/town auto ack
« on: August 08, 2007, 11:46:36 PM »
I can understand the purpose of auto ack, to protect from vulching and picking. But the current accuracy of these takes it WAY to far. If your 5k up and fly over an enemy airfeild... hello, tower! That's really bad, considering the farthest out Ive ever been hit by player ack (M16's, osti's and bomber gunner's) is 1.5k. And... I cant count the times that Ive been trailing someone who then flies through ack, or I cant pursue someone because they wont come out of the ack zone, and then when someone gets fed up and dives on the ack hugger, hugger gets proxy. Extremely frustrating. Ack shouldn't be able to hit you until you get within 1000 yards of it, which would be outside the effective range of .50's, and 30mm's, so it would still prevent vulching to a degree, but wont create an inpenetratable blanket of death.

I Agree and disagree.  I believe it is insane for the ack to be able to shoot higher than a mile, but I believe the accuracy is fine.

i would have to agree because it was relly hard to get hits with AA guns and it was posible for the strongst of AA guns to hit up to a mile high.

( i do hate it when people hide in the AA cover:noid )

Perhaps I worded that wrong, the accuracy isnt so much the problem as the ranges it can be that accurate at.

The faster I fly threw ack, the more accurate it seems at hitting me. I'll go 500mph and get hit like 10 times, or I can go 150mph and get 3 times.

Ack fires randomly within a rectangular prism around your aircraft. The farther away you are, the faster you are, and te more Gs you pull, the larger that prism becomes.

I just wish my ack was as accurate as the emeny's.  Seems like I can't make a pass over a field without losign a wing and someone can zip over my field making 3-4 and still not even be smokin.

I'd like to see more manned ack and less Auto-Ack.  Defend the fields yourselves

I say we need a mannable ack in towns so its easier to defend them. Instead of driving all that way, or trying to get up from a field being vulched.
