..............Well........... that`s as close as I could get on this board.
:)

Hugh.
He lost every driver he started the season with and for good reasons.
The loud mouth piece of dung brought junk to one of the toughest routes in trucking, then wants to blame the drivers on camera. He also lost a good friend.
It also turns out that "The Polar Bear" is more like "The Panda Bear". He talks a badd *** game on camera and on the phone to his drivers, but when it comes down to it in person, he has a completely different game. None.
During my years of trucking as an owner/operator and a few years running about 20 trucks for a company I found one simple rule. Put your drivers in a good, quality rig and they will turn and burn. Put them in junk and you are going to not only lose money, but spend most of your time replacing drivers.
This guy accomplished one thing during this series. He completely  proved , without a doubt, that he is not only a loud mouth, but a scumbag.

The guy was kind of a sweetheart, but, to be fair he was telling one of the guys the entire time to fix the truck. Drew had alot of breakdowns, but alot of them were from bad trailers. On top of that, the guy got up and made coffee while on the ice road. No wonder he ended up in the ditch the first night. The 3rd guy got popped for speeding, wasn't really a bad truck issue.

Drew's truck "just dying" because it ran out of gas wasn't his fault...

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah.

Showing off for the camera by making coffee, acting like a hard bellybutton and calling your wife to "lay down the law" only to have her tell you stop whining were just some of the highlights of why the guy needs slapped.

Hugh's a scumbag but unlike a lot of scumbags he's at least out there working.  Didn't he make more trips than anyone?  A money driven scumbag...yep I've experienced SOBs like that on both sides of the fence.  When they needed me and another when I was on the wrong side of the ledger column...:furious

Seems like a pretty tough life for those weeks on the ice road.  They need a few more Jay's and Alex's up there as opposed to Drews.

Bring the macho drivers for training  here on transcanada hwy 1 ,Coqihalla toll section in British Columbia, in winter time, 7% downhill for about 5 miles , Cabage Hill in Idaho is a joke comparing with this section, if your diesel doesn't become peanut butter you need chains, no salt and other ice melting chemicals just some useless sand, the enviromentalists want to save the salmons

I got bored with the show early on. Too much bragging about how bad some them are and a real lack of vocabulary choices. Hearing the bleeping got old very fast.

It's obvious that they don't bring enough equipment or drivers to get the job done safely. Driving for 24 to 36 hours at a stretch is simply stupid. Bringing trucks that are worn out is even more stupid.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Diamonds aren't just a girl's best friend ya know.  They have all kinds of industrial uses....so yeh, the world does need more diamonds.

I've worked for guys like Hugh. All he expects from you is to get the job done. If you keep the truck on the road you make money. It's as simple as that. I don't really see he did anything wrong other than pick bad drivers.

I knew Drew was going to wash out the first time I saw him. The road is full of Drew's and their easy to spot. Lotta talk, CB Rambo's. How do you lose a batterybox and not even notice? :huh

Rick should have put the truck in the shop. I think he was just worn out and ready to go home. Notice he didn't get his pay from Hugh. They will work it out.

No way Jose would I drive the ice road.

My sons like it. I got tired of the whining. If the whining isn't accompanied by a solution, I'm not even interested in hearing it. And it sounds even worse coming from men.  At least women are expected to whine.

I was amazed at the crap those guys are driving. I will agree, it's not a job for a wimpus. However having trucks that barely hold together is pretty damn stupid. There is a reason most trucking companies want drivers in trucks less than 5 years old.

I mean no freaking heater in 2 of those trucks? WTF is that about. EH?

If you are an owner operator then hell yea it's your job to fix your own damn truck, and it's your fault if you drive junk. Expecting a hired driver to spend his money and time to fix a piece of junk truck is pretty stupid and that guy got what he deserved by losing all his drivers IMO.

I couldn't get into this show. The blowhard guy bored me to death in the first couple of episodes.

It's not the diamonds... it's the demand for diamonds.  When the demand disappears, so will the need to run for them (same as demand for any other item).

I wanted to say this directly to him if I could.

He's an ass, and it really showed. I'd like to see him answer to his own lies, and re-negging on things... dude's heater was busted for how long??? he kept saying "tough it out" but at the end he said "I told you to get it fixed"

there did seem to be some other possibly cool characters up there, I hope they have another season with different people.

Personally I think they cast him as a version of Paul Sr. from American Chopper, but at least Paul concedes when he is wrong, and has a fun side. not just a big jerk all the time.
I don't know what to put here yet.
