It was weird to see the French pilots were dubbed with American accents for the English version. Nice flying shots but in the 'Top Gun' school of realism when it comes to dogfighting.  Even in AH we don't get that close in dogfighting, unless you count the guy I clipped wings with today.

Frenchy I believe the armee de l'air 135s can use the boom for refueling but obviously it has to be modified on the ground in advance. I seem to remember a picture of one refueling a Belgian F16.

I really like the lines of the Mirage types. They really have a certain, 'Je ne sais quoi'.

Ghi, that's one of the best UFO shots ever, obviously hoaxed but brilliant right down to little hum as they passed over. Even the gasp from the woman was brilliantly understated. 'I want to believe'.

The flight scenes of Skyfighters are really visually stuning, sadly the scinematic effects have to totaly obliterate any hint of realisum as far as tactics/weapons. The story is also a lame pretext to an aviation movie. :o

Golfer:  Thanks for that, the Tanker I saw the day before had "Alabama" painted on the tail.  I didn't notice if that tanker was one of ours (Maineiacs) or not.  With the base closures of late, we received some KC-135s to augment our fleet.  These are turbofan models and most of what is here is still turbojets.  They are now converting over.  Living one mile off the approach end of 33...I sure can't wait  :)

AwMac:  You're an idiot.  Loose lips on pics of Mirages?  Ok.  Maybe your PTSD is flaring up?

Raider:  We get a lot of NATO and other birds in from overseas.  Its ot uncommon to have 4 Israeli F-15s in town one day, a huge Russian Antov cargo bird the next.

US Navy uses probe and drogue also.  It's a pretty well known fact that the USAF prefers to receive.:lol

lol

Britain and France are small compared with the US, but its usually possible to find little pockets of land over which to practice. Small, dinky areas like, say, Scotland for example.

Hopefully nobody by the end of next week ;)  Had an informal phone "interview" cleverly disguised as a BS session with the CP of a Lear 45...it's a great gig.
