I would like to see an additional level in the Toggle Icons feature to permit enabling and disabling the icon modes you want to be able to cycle.
Perhaps add an additional page below Options->Preferences->
called "Toggle Icons" with the following check box list:

[Alt] - Toggle Icons (the enabled icon modes will cycle)
[X] Normal Icons Mode
[X] Plane Type Icon Mode
[_] Friendly Only Icons
[_] Icons Off

I don't need "Icons Off" in the MA, nor is "Friendly Only" of any use to me, though it may be to others. I would like to toggle between player names and plane types without shutting off enemy icons. I have my toggle on the throttle and sometimes I don't manage to fully engage the switch, or in the heat of battle I lose track of which mode I'm in, especially with the ever-scrolling text buffer. Then I get shot down by the invisible plane I didn't see because icons were actually off. In the above list Normal Icons would be permanently checked.
