Dear HTC,
I respectfully request that you turn killshooter off for the DA. I do not request any other changes except for this.
I understand that you may have gotten fed up with the threads complaining about a new guy or two who would go into the DA to vulch, and I understand that I was a part of the problem in these threads as well.
I believe that your reasoning behind turning killshooter on in the DA was to try and end such behavior in the DA and the pain in the butt whining about it on the BBS.
Since killshooter was turned back on, there have been a number of suggestions on how we could find a happy medium ground. Suggestions such as DA moderators, squad killshooter off, etc., and I can only surmise by your lack of response to such suggestions, that you thought said suggestions were no good. I'm sure you have your reasons.
So now, I'm only suggesting that we go back to killshooter off, with no other changes. I do this for a simple reason:
Nothing has really changed for the positive. You can still find a new guy interrupting duels fairly often in the DA. It's just a fact of life that some people are going to do this, be it out of ignorance, or apathy towards others. The current lack of threads on the topic may be wrongly interpreted as, "problem solved." It isn't. But we have seen what happens when we get too aggravated by this problem, and I believe the community is capable of having a longer fuse with such people in the future.
However, many things have changed for the negative. The most glaring being that getting a group of guys together for duels in the same sector requires splitting them into two groups. Can we deal with this? Yes. Quite a few of us did tonight. But it would be better for us, and more enjoyable for us, if we didn't have to. It would be very nice to be able to fight anyone in the sector without first having to auger, change coutries, take off, fly across the sector, and engage.
I understand that you might be very wary of trying this. I understand that Skuzzy might not like the idea of having even MORE threads to interrupt his weekends with
and I understand that you may think that the way the DA used to be simply cannot work.
I ask for the opportunity to prove your fears negligible. I would very much appreciate it if you would turn killshooter off on a probationary status, and see how it plays out for a month. Please give us another chance at this.
