Are you staring at the sky, missing those wonderful times of yester year when the menace of the Red Bear was a shadow over this country? Do you fondly remember "Duck and Cover" drills as a youngster? Do you miss Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall? Well, have no fear, the Cold War is back and it's heated up!

World in Conflict

Looks like a damn good RTS game. Premise is the Cold War heats up when in 1988, to stave off collapse of the Soviet menace, the Soviets invade Western Europe. NATO responds only to have the Soviets open up a 2nd front...by invading the United States.

Is it a FPS type game were you directly control an individual tank/guy/plane whatever, or a strategy game were you control lots of units? None of the films gave any indication of the gameplay. Looked like videos.

At least now we know which game all those guys with quad-sli 8800GTX ultra's will buy. The rest of us will settle to watching screenshots (just like playing the real game on our crappy systems..)

It's an RTS without all the resource management crap, just pure fighting.

not only is it a really good RTS but the story and the cutscenes are first rate.

Dude....I just did some arty strikes from the USS Missourri and dropped a few BLU-82s.
