I think Bat realized i was looking for more in this game than BnZ Cherry picken, vulchin and fighting at the edge of a fight and then runnin home when it got tight.
I have to admitt i enjoy the above, but Bat forced me out of my comfort zone and took me to the TA and schooled me in the art of turn fighting, stalls and reversals. Its a start anyways.
It seems you learn the most when you humble yourself and admitt when you don't know something. I'm in my 40's with kids and still learn that valuable life lesson of humility.
I had a session awhile back with Snaphook and he showed me how to fight in the vertical and use a planes characteristics. That was also very helpful.
I met Sloehand last night. What a great guy. He helped us out for over an hour with manuevers. All Bat did was ask. He didn't know me from Adam.
He is in a different squad different country, but was willing to help, amazing if you ask me.
I really post this for 2 reasons. One is to say thanks and share a story about what a great AH community we have here. And second, if anybody else is wanting to know more about how to fly, just humble yourself and ask or if someone is willing to show you, accept it.
I'm sure i will die alot more practicing what i have learned and continue to learn, but as Bat says you usually have to die alot to get better. I think i have heard that from others too. Thanks again Bat for pushing me into doing something i should have done long ago.
