I hope he serves more than the minimum and never plays any pro sport again. When he gets out he can then go to work in a regular job.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

You are on....he is out in more than 90, you start a new handle for posting in here.     He gets out in less than 90 days, I will change my handle and start over posting.

I am seriously believing this will take more than a year in jail.

He didn't molest a child for God's sake.   No one is going to do harm to him.   First, he will be in a country club like Martha Smith.  Second, he will have a posse of thugs praying they can hang with him afterwards listening to gangster rap.   Finally, I think he can take care of himself anyway.

He will be fine in jail.   That's what sucks.

I'd bet he serves about a year, has another year of suspension, and in 2009 he returns to either an arena football team or an NFL team thats in desperate need of a QB.. although i saw somewhere today they speculated he could be a RB by then, which would make sense too.

The smart move now would be to admit that he was wrong and beg forgiveness. Get out of prison and spend some time speaking out about dog fighting, as well as donate some of his fat loot towards peta or similar canine lover groups.

What he did was terrible but I'm not against giving someone a second chance as long as they take responsibility for their actions.

I'm willing to bet the Judge increases the sentence to over 2 years. He's known for being a hanging judge and the sentence is totally his discretion.

He won't play professional football but some network will pick him up to do announcing game color.

If you think pro athletes are tough, and can take care of themselves in prison, you've never seen the inside of a real prison for very long.

It is possible that he'll be sent to the minimum security country club near Atlanta.

If he isn't, what will take care of him in prison is his money, not his athletic ability. He'll PAY for protection.

He'll do more than 90 days. The NFL has little choice but to hit him harder than they've hit CrackMan Jones, since there's a LOT more public outcry over Vick than there is CrackMan Jones. CrackMan Jones got a YEAR off from the NFL, so far, and he has not been convicted of his involvement in the shooting in Vegas, or the incident in Atlanta. He does have several convictions for "minor" offenses, such as here in the 'boro, where he spit in a woman's face and shoved her, he got a minor assault conviction there, but got conditional probation. He had to stay out of trouble to keep from doing time. How'd that work out? Not too good. BIG surprise.

Fed money wasted...all the money that went into the investigation, trial, lawyers, etc could have taken about 100 meth addicts off the street.

The NFL really doesn't care about the dogfighting. It's the gambling that they will hang over him. Can't gamble on anything and play in the NFL.

i think its pretty gay that money can bye his way into a better prison.

am i the only 1 that doesn't get this? i mean ya he plays a SPORT its just a SPORT doesn't mean he should get all these dam privileges. i mean come on if that was a regular guy he'd be put in jail for like 10 years. BUT since he plays a SPORT that makes him better then every 1 else.

i think this is the main problem with our society today. celebrities should get the same punishment as any 1 else. its the law!!!

it pisses me off how ( although its a completely different story) a 17 year old black kid gets a BJ from a 15 year old girl and has to go to jail for 10 YEARS while MIKE VICK kills and tortures dogs gets only 10 MONTHS

WTF IS THIS S**T

He won't get a Country Club, but he won't get a SuperMax either. More than likely he'll be put somewhere like the Federal Pen in Ft.Worth, Tx.

You may be right. I also  think the Commissioner is not going to be happy about being lied to.

Remember, Vick swore to the commissioner that he had nothing to do with the dogfighting. Now Vick is going to have to allocute to his misdeeds completely as a condition of not having superceding charges brought against him. This equates also to an admission of lying, I believe this will increase the amount of time the NFL suspends him.  Just my opinion.

Yup. His best time back in the league is 2010. A more realistic bet is 2012.  He might play backup somewhere on a losing team, but his career is officially toast.

I'm not convinced the judge won't increase the sentence.
