I would imagine that somebody flying a phantom would have the skills to use a pair of wire cutters, some spade connectors, and a crimper.  He might even know how to use a transformer to get the proper voltage.

Except for the voltage, I did the rest in my car, and I am a mechanical, not an electrical engineer.
