Wednesday night turnout
« on: August 23, 2007, 07:27:35 AM »
Saw a lot of new faces last night in what became a reasonably good turnout.  The P-40 guys quickly started working in wingman teams, to excellent effect.  The Zeke folks snatched anyone who slowed down or tried to turn with them.  Seemed like folks had fun, and it was one of the better illustrations of history (anyone who flew a P-40 in 1942 - and survived combat - was a god, so far as I'm concerned).

Definately had a good night.  Last fight I got in a long rolling battle with Dedalos that got my adreneline going big time.  If I had known he was out of ammo I'd have called it off but a big to him for hanging in there and giving me a workout.

Nice flying with you ERG.

I had a really good fight with Kamilyun.

He was in a P-38, I was in a zeke.  He beat me off the merge, we went a turn or two and I was looking straight up.  He was nose on about 400 out and I was just waiting for the killshot but it never came.  We kept at it, a couple more merges and he had me at the high 6.  Waited for the killshot but it didn't come.  Kept at it and eventually I started getting the better of him as the fight slowed down.  After a few more turns I got on his 6 and tried to stay there.

Fight went on until he augered.  It was fun.  I don't know if I ever had a fight where nobody took a shot intentionally.  He would have killed me twice, so we both know who won the fight.  Too bad we can't call, "guns guns guns" over vox on each other on separate teams.

Also, nice fights Ded.  I'm gonna review the tapes.  I think I was flying the zero too fast which really plays into your strengths.  It seemed like Cowboy got you after he slowed you down and out turned you.

Yes that was fun.  Wish I could have been on earlier.  Dedalos taught me a few things.  I cannot believe how he kept that 40 up and so slow.  Amazing.  I need to learn to hold back on the zero throttle a little more.  So used to heavy american iron.  Gonna go practice...

It takes an very big amount of a special acm skill to do what I was doing with 4 zeros on my tail.

I can try to train you in it or you can look it up on the internet.  Just google the word "Luck" and you should come up with a few hits :rofl

Must be the moon or something.  We had some very determined people who I have not seen much before, Draggon, Notch, 2fightr among them.  Good fights, good times, make sure you come back.

Nice turnout tonight.. I went to get a beer and my comp locked up.  The kids were being blingy so I decided to log and deal with the real world :D

I think the AVA is growing.  This is a good thing all

Enjoyed some good fights myself in the hour or so I hung out. Got repeatedly schooled by Maha, but had some chances to shoot at other targets so it didnt get too frustrating. (I think I literally never got to pull the trigger against Maha -- and he was the epitome of class the whole time. Must be taking Oldman lessons... to ya both)

Saw the best of AvA -- great combat, switches for side balancing, no HOs, staying out of fights so they could continue as 1v1.

It won't be that way all the time, but it was wonderful last night!

Who is this Maha   :noid  , inquiring minds want to know.

I've flown against and been subsequently shot down by some of the best in AH and I believe he's the smoothest so far. Freeks me out a little bit.:huh

Heh, sounds like the end of each "Lone Ranger" episode ("Who was that masked man?"  "I don't know, and I wanted to thank him.").

I believe I have gotten precisely one (1) bona fide kill of Maha.  I shudder to think of his Oldman claim total (I heard that his mechanic sprained his wrist painting Oldman symbols on the side of the plane).  What a nice guy, always willing to share hints and tell you what you did wrong.
