« on: August 23, 2007, 02:24:42 PM »
I think its a big joke that the Naacp is sticking up for Vick.....they said he made a mistake and should be forgiven.......A mistake ..Imo is when you drop something...or you hit someone else in a car accedent.....of when you hit your head on something...thats a mistake...a mistake is not doing what Vick did!! What a joke!
Also I think Vick has to be the most Ignorant person on earth....he cost himself around 100,000 million dollars buy having these dog fights!!
aahhh  I feel better now that I have vented!!!:)

Doesn't matter what you do...Commit a crime and your black and it was a mistake.  Commit the same crime as a whitey and you are a racist danger to society.

I think you should know by now that a lot of what that organization says is garbage.  Yes, i'm sure they have done a lot of good, and they claim to have positive intent, however, major news story after major news story, and responses like this just bring me to the negative with this group.

I'd like to start the NAAWP.  Why not?  If ehtnic minorities can have a group, why cant caucasians?

And another thing I wish I did in college was start a Caucasian American Club...Would have been open to every creed and race, and if there is a club that highlights the culture and history of African American's, why cant the history and culture of caucasians be admirerd?

The NAACP is a racist organization with an agenda. Certainly not illegal but anyone who claims they are something else is either delusional or lying.

The national organization said something a little different.

Interesting that the national NAACP talks about "redemption" when it comes to Vick.

Especially after the NAACP played a big part in getting Don Imus fired...and the only crime he committed was being stupid.

Just wondering.

Any crime is a "mistake", the fact that the "mistake" also happens to be a crime is the binding situation. You are expected to not make the mistake of not knowing right from wrong and legal from illegal.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Folks..you are treading on a bad line here.

Forget the RACE stuff.  Who cares if Vick is blue, green, or purple...let's look at the facts.

Mr. White of the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP said, and I paraphrase here:

"Mr Vick's pleading guilty was not about guilt or innocence, it was about cutting his losses."

The FACT is that if Vick had NOT plead guilty and went to trial...all the facts would have come to light.  Vick plead guilty and copped a plea because he KNEW the feds had an airtight case, and Vick did not want all the facts to come out in court (and concequently the media).  If ALL the facts came out, any future (2-3 years down the road) chance of playing again would have dissapeared.

Now, we will NEVER know all the facts to the case....and that is just what Vick wanted.

The commissioner of the NFL has STILL not made a decision on Vick.

So blow out all the racial crap.  If this had been Brent Farve, there would have been the same disgust and repercussions.  Period.

Predictions:

1) Vick WILL serve 2 to 3 years.

2) Vick WILL try and get back into the NFL (if he's not permanently banned by the commissioner), but will be so badly PR tainted that the best he might do is the CFL or possibly a European team, where a "forgive & forget" attitude might get him a job in the name of attendance.

3) Every record in the NFL books in his name will have an asterisk

"Cutting his losses"?

No.

It IS about GUILT and innocence.
