Folks..you are treading on a bad line here.
Forget the RACE stuff. Who cares if Vick is blue, green, or purple...let's look at the facts.
Mr. White of the Atlanta chapter of the NAACP said, and I paraphrase here:
"Mr Vick's pleading guilty was not about guilt or innocence, it was about cutting his losses."
The FACT is that if Vick had NOT plead guilty and went to trial...all the facts would have come to light. Vick plead guilty and copped a plea because he KNEW the feds had an airtight case, and Vick did not want all the facts to come out in court (and concequently the media). If ALL the facts came out, any future (2-3 years down the road) chance of playing again would have dissapeared.
Now, we will NEVER know all the facts to the case....and that is just what Vick wanted.
The commissioner of the NFL has STILL not made a decision on Vick.
So blow out all the racial crap. If this had been Brent Farve, there would have been the same disgust and repercussions. Period.
Predictions:
1) Vick WILL serve 2 to 3 years.
2) Vick WILL try and get back into the NFL (if he's not permanently banned by the commissioner), but will be so badly PR tainted that the best he might do is the CFL or possibly a European team, where a "forgive & forget" attitude might get him a job in the name of attendance.
3) Every record in the NFL books in his name will have an asterisk
"Cutting his losses"?
No.
It IS about GUILT and innocence.
