I hope he isn't a Rook.  If he is, he'll be waiting a long time for the rest of us to figure out how to take a base without spillin' our beers.

Happy to see someone else felt the same way as I did about the identical maps.
Last night logged on one arena. Dang, hate this map. Logged on the second LW _ double dang? Or did I just make a mistake and relog to the same arena? Log out and try again ... dang! dang! dang!

And if Full Realism is full, you have to play in Relaxed Realism? No thank you.

BTW, there is not even a common agreement about the definition of "Full vs Relaxed".
Half of the community would claim what we now have is Full Realism, the other half would insist it's being Relaxed ;)

I wouldn't want 1 of the current LW arenas to be "relaxed", but I wouldn't mind seeing one opened.

I would never fly there, but I bet a lot of new players would, and a lot of people that only fly for score would. It might improve the "Full" realism arenas.

I'd just as soon light my hair on fire and put it out with a hammer than fly a RR arena.

No way.  Please, let's not over-simplify AH any more than it already has to be.

The Arenas already ARE 'Relaxed Realism'!

i.e.
Radar on a Clipboard, NO Friendly Collisions, NO Night & Lighting,
NO forced Taxi to and from Runway, NO Friendly-Fire, Simple Terrain,
NO Complex Engine Management (CEM), NO random Weather,
NO random Malfunctions, 20 Mile-Long Runways, etc...

I would pay triple for a Full (as much as you can anyway)
Realism Arena.

First, let me say, I, like some of the others reading here, thought you were asking for the "realism" to be turned down, not up. Sorry.

The problem with computer sims (at least with out present level of technology) is though more and more "realism" can be introduced, some of the issues created for "computer pilots", are not "issues" in "real life". Or at least are less of an issue.

No depth perception, no "Feel" concerning speed increases or decreases. No feeling of orientation while looking out the a side view (moving up, down, banking left or right). It's difficult to judge direction or orientation of other planes at even moderately long distances. Can't "feel" the plane vibrate. I mean, like the feel of increase engine vibrations. The issues with the limitations we face because of Gaming Joysticks, in the area of trim have been cited. We don't feel G's and no one ever get tired from working under the load of them. All of these are important "clues" that a real pilot would have, but we don't.

I'd pay triple for more realism too. If they were some of the "real" things I listed.

Best regards,
--Tachus

No, thanks, I think the game, right now, has a good balance between being, well, a game and realism. At most, I could ask for weather conditions, night and, maybe, friendly collisions and fire (no, thinking about it... no friendly fire, too many dolts around in MAs.....)
